Fish : Weltschmerz
I don't hate it.
But I'm trying to like it.
Jesus Christ Superstar
Original rock album cast
I do like it and play it occasionally.
It's not the end all be all I was hoping for from a farewell album.
I do like "Feasts of Consequences" more.
Japan - Tin Drum (Virgin vinyl 1981)
Even 40-years on, David Sylvian's unique, haunting delivery reaches down deep inside me and flicks all kinds of switches. My kind of nostalgia.
Ayreon : Universal Migrator
- Part 1 - The Dream Sequencer
- Part 2 - Flight Of The Migrator
I know I'm in a minority here, but I think this is the best stuff he ever produced.
Sad that Arjen and Eric/Lana fell "out of love" after their disastrous Japanese tour. They worked well together.
It's a fantastic piece of music, no argument there. If it's Arjen's best CAN be debated, but that's probably down to personal taste in the end. I'm very partial to "The Human Equation" and "Theory of Everything", but ask me next week and I might cite "Into The Electric Castle" as the best thing since sliced bread. I think we can agree that "Transitus" was his weakest in a long, long while though.
Too bad Dickinson couldn't be asked to deliver a better performance on "Into the Black Hole". He sounds like he's phoning it in, sadly.

Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (album)
One of my gateway drugs into Heavy Metal at the tender age of thirteen. I know it's one of Maiden's more "controversial" albums, with its heavy reliance on synths and overly "poppy" songwriting, but I see no problems there. I like synths, the "easy" songs like "Can I Play With Madness" are a fantastic entry point and there are still some monumental epics like the title track with its roller-coaster ride of emotions. To be honest, this album has more staying power than most of their work post "Brave New World". Flame on!
Scardust : Strangers
Listen, Listen by Sandy Denny which I just found by way of the Wiki Random shuffler.
