Dimension Act : Manifestation Of Progrress

Another first-listen. Opinions later...

Hill Where The Lord Hides -- Chuck Mangione.

Astounding piece of Jazz even if I hate the title.

Pretty good. Hard-edged almost metallic instrumentation with a lot of jazzy influences.

Or is it hard-edged jazz with a lot of metallic influences..?

Elf Project : The Great Divide

Farpoint : Kindred

Another first listen. The band leader is a friend (who I've lost touch with), but I'll try to be objective...

I'm glad to say that Farpoint is getting better with each release. But their vocals aren't up to scratch - I wish they'd get a stronger singer.

Gekko Projekt : Electric Forest

Pretty ordinary. Good performances, but unimaginative - linear, repetitive. Good background music, IMO.

I love your first listen feedbacks. Thank you.

Sometimes gooid background music in nice to work to or for other activites of course.

You're welcome :) I'm sorry they aren't full-fledged reviews. But after publishing over 500 reviews until about 10 years ago, I just don't have that kind of time any more.

I'm surprised I didn't know this outfit before - they're very good. Mostly hard-edged instrumental, but what few vocals they have are good. I lot of guitar-hero-style instrumentation, which almost always has a bit of a jazzy influence, but it's very listenable - and for the connoisseur, there's enough complexity to keep it interesting.

Not nuch in the way of "hooks" to make it really approachable, though.

K2 : Black Garden

Another first listen. Opinion later...

(Hard to believe that I still have over 500 CDs that I've never had a chance to listen to...)
