Witchery - Oathbreaker

@haulover: No, you're not losing anything. See it more as a chance to expand your horizon. While digging up the black metal roots, check out Immortal too. You might find something you'll enjoy. "Pure Holocaust" is pedal to the metal insanity, while "At The Heart of Winter" is majestic ice-cold grandeur.

I could top that by suggesting Risk, a German thrash metal band and their "The Reborn" album. It's a concept record about the Indian deity Ravana and features a ton of sitar parts on top of rather technical metal. Very unique, especially for the early '90s.

Speaking of German bands:

Thulcandra - Fallen Angel's Dominion

Fast, cold and still melodious.

100 Days, 100 Nights - Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings

R.I.P. Sharon Jones. :rose:

Good evening, Musicals.

I was at the Tedeschi Trucks Band concert last night and they did a 3 song Soul/Motown tribute to Sharon Jones. It was kick-ass. They also did a Leonard Cohen song in tribute too.

100 Years Ago ~ Rolling Stones

I saw TTB several years ago in Minneapolis. Susan has a great blues voice. Derek is such a great slide guitarist.

I'm sure that was an excellent show.

Ballad of a Thin Man - Bob Dylan

They were a bucket list concert for me. At this point in life I've seen most acts that I want to, but had never seen them. Speaking of Dylan, they played a great cover of You Ain't Goin Nowhere that was very memorable. Derek was great on every tune . . . I never got to see Duane Allman, but I doubt he had anything on Derek.

Unsuffer Me ~ Lucinda Williams

I was in my teens when Duane crashed his motorcycle. I never saw him play but I listened to ABB all the time. His skill inspired me to try to learn a few of his songs on the guitar.

Yeah . . . I wore out copies of Live at Fillmore and Eat a Peach. Their music made me investigate Robert Johnson and Elmore James. Then I got into the Dead from there and then outlaw and alt country. ABB was a launching pad. I still love listening to the Dickey Betts and earlier stuff.

Ha - my iTunes mix just threw out the BB King / Duane Allman Blues Medley . .
