What are you doing this weekend?

Off to get my hair cut and then to the office to get some work done. I'm behind since I wasn't able to concentrate much this week on work.

I taped the replay last night of the service in the capital from yesterday. I'll watch that later today and that's when I'm sure I'll weep.

Gathering supplies to send into Manhattan for the rescue workers at WTC.

bottled water
socks
towels
granola bars
gatorade

NYC officials have announced that they are well supplied at this point but due to limited storage facilities they need gradual shipments over the next weeks. My daughter's school is renting trucks and bringing it all in next week when they will need their supplies replenished. This clean up/rescue effort is going to take a long time.

It's kind of heart warming to see that the stores here on Long Island are full of people gathering supplies to make the workers a little more comfortable. Flags are also flying off the shelves if you can find them at all.

Played two hours of tennis on a beautiful Saturday morning. I lost, but like my partner said, the sun is shining, it's 65 F, and no one is shooting at us.

Kind of put things in perspective.

Believe it or not I was supposed to go to a Wild West re-creation town today (Sat) but the weather is shitty and I'm really not in the mood for it.

BTW if your wondering why there is such a town in the UK, it belongs to a club that like to dress up as cowboys and stage gunfights and the suchlike, usually it's closed to all except club members but they've opened it up for visitors today and I here the collection plate will be passed for victims of the WTC, I've already arranged to donate via a club member and friend.

Resorted my CD's...

Went to the post office to drop off supplies for NYC... though heard on the news later that they're asking - for the time being - to stop sending supplies - they don't know where to put it all!!! (Can anyone confirm this?)

Went to the Firehouse to contribute to the Firefighter's Childrens Fund - money to go to the children of Firefighter's in NYC who have lost their lives in the rescue attempts... My kids even gave some of their own money.

Took the kids to lunch... went to the gym... hanging out.

I worked all afternoon and just stopped home on my way to a nice hamburger straight from the grill. :)

I haven't watched one minute of TV yet today. I think that is doing me good.

See ya later!

Generally I've been a bit lazy today I'll admit that. But I have acomplished a bit!

When I cooked my dinner this evening, I started to do my dishes, which were really needed, and got through most of it.

Tomorrow it going to be a bit busy. I'll meet my mom and her husband in the airport before they leave on their vacation, and pick up their car, and the two cats I'll be cat-sitting while they are gone. Then back home, and to bed for a bit, since I won't have gotten enough sleep, before I start some more cleaning of my apartment.

Yeah it's so exciting, I can't stand all that excitement!! ;)

Well last night went and watched my nephew's soccer game.........and they opoened a can on the other team 6-0

After the game went to my big sisters house and drank some adult beverages. We had a min family get together. My sister, her husband and his brother and his brothers friend. Got home around midnight or so.........

slept in until 7 am this morning, came in and posted a few quickies.....and then went back to bed for a bit....until 1 PM

Got up, cut the grass and did yardwork outside, it was beautiful outside today (high was around 70 +/- and breezy) then went and washed a friend of mines car (washed all the "Just married" slogans off of it for him and vacuumed it out ~ had lotsa bird seed and stuff in it)

Came home and just sat outside and took it all in.

Tonight we are going to grill out. Then go and get some ice cream from a favorite place of ours............

tomorrow is DVD day...........

Went out for a friend's birthday. Stopped a pickpocket stealing from my friend's bag.

Thought so, I saw a TV programme that said a lot of new pick pockets have come over as asylum seekers and are plying hteir trade in London's hot spots.

Really? I've always been careful around there because of such big crowds....and I get suspicious if anyone gets too close or bumps into me; that suspicion paid off today anyways!

Crying my heart out because I can't be with my best friend of 13 years for her 21st birthday. :(

Theres a new one going on too it's called "shoulder surfing", what happens is that when you go to a cash machine a group of people crowd in just as you put your pin number in and then they throw a fiver on the floor and tell you you've dropped it, when you go to pick it up they steal your card as it comes out of the machine then walk off and find another machine and empty your card upto the limit.

But if they miss your card at the machine they follow you and pick your pocket, this is all new and has come in with these asylum seeker pickpocket/beggers.

That's for the tip Outty, I'll remember that for future reference!

What happened today is that there were three of us walking...and then two guys went really close to my two friends, and then bumped into them....i was wondering why they were getting so close, and turned to see them stealing my friend's wallet from her handbag! So i turned around and gave them what for and managed to get her wallet back.

It happened so quickly my friends didn't have a clue what was going on; they thought i was starting on the guys for no reason!

I went to my daughters game this morning (cheerleader). Had to work the concession stand. not my forte'.

I got together with some of the other Police wives and made ribbons to sell for the victims fund.

Called my neighbor that I have not spoken to in 3 years a Jerk and the most horrible person I have ever met because he yelled at my son and made him cry for hitting a plastic practice golf ball 2 feet into his yard then told me to get off his property when I took my son over to apologize and tell him he would not do it again.

Felt guilty........thought about telling him if he would quit being a jerk, then I would stop calling him one......didn't think it was going to help the situation.

Took my children to a high school football game to sell the ribbons.

Getting ready to watch a movie with my youngest-my other two went to a festival.

Tomorrow I will go to Church. I'll probably cry.

Then I will take some pictures of my friends daughter for her modeling portfolio.

Then I am picking up a little girl that I will start babysitting monday so that she can "feel" out my house and make sure she is comfortable with me.

Then I am going to a Police Picnic/Pig roast.....yes, we think it's funny that we call it a "PIG" roast. I'll probably cry.

Then I will fight with my kids over who is going to take a bath first.

Then I will read to them and put them in bed........laying down in bed with each one for a few minutes cause that is my most favorite time of the day with them....all alone ...they are so open and playful .....that's when they tell me all the good stuff. ;)

Then I will pack mondays lunches and go through the backpacks to make sure everything is in order.....no live animals being snuck to school.

Then I will do some laundry because My 13 year old will jump out of bed and tell me she "HAS" to have her blue shirt tomorrow!!!!
and will roll her eyes when I ask why she can't just wear any one of the other 5 blue shirts she owns.

Then I will sit here in this chair.....read a bit...think about posting ...probably won't....might check into chat.....probably won't. read some more....

Then I will look over at my wonderful husband (Don't worry I won't pull a Latina here) sleeping all snuggled up in bed ...and I will join him.......and try to sleep.

This is just a summary of course.............the full version will be out on DVD in the spring.......
:D

You did good mate, I always put my wallet in a zipped pocket and then put a safety pin though the hole in the zip pull and through the jacket so it locks it, I never used to do this but like I said I saw a TV show and they said it's rife with asylum seeker pickpockets.

Outty, if you zip your pocket it's good enough, they normally only go for open bags or obvious pockets; otherwise it's too difficult.
