I’m a serious grown up woman, Simon. Unlike certain authors of lesbian erotica, whose name might rhyme with blonder.Oh, dear god, @EmilyMiller is back. That means @onehitwanda will be out of control, the double entendres in this place will multiply like randy mice, the lesbians will be happy, and the straight dudes like me who get off on happy hot lesbian talk will chime in with their bad puns and cringy limericks. And Lovecraft will be there to disapprove of the whole damn thing.
I know you are. My remark isn't meant as a reflection on you but on the perpetual ridiculousness of this place, which gives me great satisfaction and makes me shake my head in bemusement at the same time.I’m a serious grown up woman, Simon. Sooo... Are you asking for like a glass of drinking water, or a bucket of cooling water?Primal need. Zero plot. Send water.
Only just saw that…
Novels are hard. so much to keep track of. Mine topped out at about 97,000 words and approx. 3k got cut out of that before publication. It took me three years, off and on... meaning it took me a year longer to write than it was available for purchase. It was published in 2012 and by time we hit 2014, the publisher was gone. I'm now searching for a new publisher for it.And, as I’m here. About 90% of the way to a complete draft of my first novel. Currently just over 79,000 words written. Scary as fuck, TBH. Reactions to the 15,000 words of Part I have been positive so far. So wish me luck!
I have no ambitions to publish commercially, it’s mostly as a) I had an idea I couldn’t let go and b) I wanted to see if I could actually write that long of a story coherently and sustaining interest. I’ve been writing it for about eight months, but with long tracts of time when I left it to one side and did other stuff.Novels are hard. so much to keep track of.
