What are we all writing right now?

Have you read The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi? It's set in a fossil fuel-depleted world where a lot of industrial work and energy storage is done using nanomaterial springs that are wound with human and animal muscle power. A very dark, vibrant setting full of agricultural oligarchs and genetically modified geishas
Nope. In this world, an alloy is invented that burns like magnesium. After decades of trial and error and one war fought over the technology, the compound is perfected so that it burns for a long time and can be extinguished, making it reusable until the ingot is depleted. It powers electrical plants, vehicles, heats homes etc. And we avoid the dingy coal powered world with gray skies.

Inspiration just struck, so I'm going to jot it down here before I forget: "Midnight Tonight", about a secret tryst.

Two random people seated at the same table in a crowded hotel restaurant discover their life situations are similar in many ways and realize they can do something about that, a first for both of them.

Halfway done with a story for the On the Job event coming up in a few weeks. Having fun with it, doing a ton of research. And I’ve got about the best beta reader possible looking it over for me, which is amazing.

A Literotica version of "Strangers on a Train"?

Still working on the sequel to my I/T story from December. It's been slow going.

Just finished part 3 of "Masters' Night In"...it's my first attempt at a crossover between two series: this one and the just-begun Fred and Ginger stories. Part 3 is 8000+ words of mostly interior monologue and is intended to show what actually happens before a

It's called Ashes To Ashlynn. I'm in the middle of writing in my 7th (written notebook) and about to start typing the 4th notebook up onto my computer.
I'm quite proud of it and have a wonderful friend who has been helping with ideas and editing. 😊

I'm at the read a few paragraphs in 'preview and publish' then hit 'make changes'. Preview again and read those paragraphs then continue on.. over and over. I'm not sure why this is the best way I've found to weed out the last little bits, but it is.

So hopefully I'll close my eyes and hit 'submit for publication' in the next day or two 😅

My newest project, which has rendered me incapable of working today and has shoved aside my determination to finish half a dozen other stories, is about a former boyband member who meets an old fan. It came to me in the flash of a single line this morning, and now I've already got 2k words down.

I decided to take your usual writing advice. I had a little lesbian romance story I'd been poking at, not really sure where I wanted to take it. So, I added some butt stuff and (once I'm done editing it) will be ramming it into Anal.

Dude, you can’t just ram it in! Prep it with some slick title and smooth description, then apply as many lubricating tags as you can find. It will go in much easier.

I usually don't warn people before I slide my stories into their categories, so this is already more prep than normal. I feel like the title is pretty oily, though, so there shouldn't be any harm done, after that initial yelp of surprise.

Currently working on a story for the workplace competition and another one, which is a sword & sorcery femdom sex story.

I’m wrapping up my Back To Normal series about a pair of twins on their last lakeside family vacation together before college, rediscovering the long forgotten “normalcy” of being open and unselfconscious around each other. It’s been tough going, as I have had to juggle writing with parenthood (1 toddler + 1 infant) and a new career. I never know for sure when I’ll have time to write, so getting the stars to align can be tough. I also recently had to do some extensive rewrites of the later chapters - always worthwhile, and not unfun, but certainly a momentum killer.

All in all, it feels lovely to be on the home stretch! Back To Normal netted me my first “H” as a Lit writer, and so will always hold a special place in my heart.
