I'm about a third of the way through Chapter 4 of The Dome, "Mothers".
I recently started a dark fairy tale about a gnome who ventures into part of The Forest that's so off-limits that no-one even remembers why. Working title: "A Fairy Tale of Autumn".
I want to get back to my full-length story from the "Demon under my bed" writing exercise. It will be a descent into darkness in three parts.
And I recently had some more inspiration for a new instalment of "One Orgasm At A Time". I think Dolly might find herself inside the original Trojan Horse, giving a handy to one of the Greek soldiers while they wait for nightfall.

Just finished penultimate editing on a story about a gambling-addicted man who loses his wife in a poker game, to his widowed father. It's played as a tragedy, and the payoff is more bittersweet than hot fetish. There is redemption for the son in the end, so a hopeful ending, if not a truly happy one. More 'best actually possible result of terrible circumstances'.

Going to sit on it till next weekend to get a fresh look at it for final proofreading and sanity checking. Probably going into Mature, but I've considered Novels & Novellas since it isn't the usually expected May/December romance, and it is 28K words. I even considered LW, but hell, who needs that hassle, especially when it would have to be wedged in to fit that category.

So this morning, I pulled one that's been in my slush pile for at least a year to take another look at. A 19 year old guy escapes from a cult that is so isolated and repressed that the men literally don't know women exist, and vice-versa. He has no idea what to do with them when he finally meets some. I may or may not pursue that, but I have at least four others that I have actively worked on over the last few months that I think are likely to be viable.

It's been tough since I took a full-time job again, instead of the gig work that left me more free time.

I'm definitely, and deliberately, shifting toward literary with erotica just an element of it.

Nine thousand words into a VERY slow burn lesbian romance (surprise, surprise). It may turn out to be the longest thing I've written.

I know where I want them to go, and I know several of the stops along the way, but not quite sure how to get them there. My stories usually have a large-ish supporting cast, but this one I want to keep very tight if possible. I think that may be partly why I'm struggling with it.

I've been absent all summer due to focusing on my historical romance novel. Finally managed to complete the first half and send it off to a publisher that's hosting a contest. Fingers crossed they like it!

I'm taking a break from the novel while I wait for feedback, so that gave me time to get back on Literotica. Completed and submitted the first part of a non-con story I started ages ago. It's about a young woman who signs a contract with a stranger, allowing him to do whatever he wants to her for 48 hours. Little does she know she'll end up stalked, kidnapped, and chased through a forest. Lots of fun!

Part two is almost complete, but I had this wonderful dream the other night and feel like I need to write something inspired by it. So I started writing a story about a very serious businesswoman who has a secret "little" (or more "middle" I suppose) side, so once a month she leaves her busy life to escape to Amsterdam where she has an apartment, and a "Daddy" to play with.

Unless she's an A-cup or less, I can tell you from experience that the boobs shift when cooking (particularly with a lot of whisking, stirring, or pan movement) and hot oil (and other things that simmer/boil) pops randomly (and often scars.)

Also, hot sugar is basically mild napalm. It burns deep and fast and sticks to the skin. So be kind to your characters and don't write a naked sugar artist unless they are an adrenaline junkie with an extreme masochistic streak.

However, I'll also add that a mild body burn is an excellent excuse to get the character into a cool shower, which can be quite titillating. And could also hold a hint of non-con as being forced under cool water to minimize the burn can be a powerful display for some cold averse women.

I don't think it's inevitable that they get longer but introducing side characters has a way of broadening the narrative that can be seductive. One minute you're writing about two people, and then the next there's a veritable zoo, ambling about, doing their own thing, taking up column inches ...

In one story I will describe one new adventure of me and my husband.

The other story is fictional with a very very small real core about a woman finding surprisingly her prince charming after a dramatic development. This ismuc more complicated as it needs proper planning and build-up
