That’s the thing isn’t it, in the correct educated community it’s fine, but once it bleeds into the mainstream via pornography that doesn’t show everything or how to perform is safely it becomes dangerous.

If you read my comments you would see I’m one the biggest advocates for learning how to do something properly. Not everyone enjoys missionary sex every day, and not everyone enjoys choking everyday either. The point I was actually debating was to do with educating people more about the BDSM community and not allowing those lines to be blurred.

It is severely unfortunate that we live in a generation of men who like to abuse the trust we as women give them and do things like slapping/choking/rude and forward messaging without consent.

And if we’re going to say, “Well, choking is illegal,” then we need to acknowledge that legality doesn’t always reflect ethics or lived reality. Things like homosexuality, abortion, or even certain types of porn have been criminalised in the past too. Laws shift with cultural understanding.

Criminalising consensual breathplay between adults doesn’t make people safer, it just drives kink further underground and makes honest conversations harder to have.

A bad reference point unfortunately. I’ve watched the show a few times.

The scene in Euphoria you’re referring to is likely the one involving Maddy and Nate, specifically their rough sexual encounter that includes choking and aggression, but without clear, verbal consent. The way the show handles this is actually exactly my point.
