Western Life-Closed for Aussie_Wolf

Brushing her fingers lightly over his cheek she looked lovingly into his eyes. "you have made me the happiest girl in the world" she said with a smile. He had truly improved upon his gracefulness in dancing, and led her with ease. She had thought for a moment she may have forgotten how, but it soon came back to her in his arms.

As they said their goodbyes and began to make their way to the next villiage. She smiled thoughtfully over the question he asked her. "It's not our people that I have reservations over. It is the people that found humor in my degradation and humiliation. But I believe with time, and support of our pack I will be able to rise above that. I have born witness to the love and admiration they have for you, and their genuine happiness over our soon to be union. You have blessed me with not only your love, but a new family, and a new purpose."

Each village they visited the same reaction was found. Chelsea had noticed one girl in particular did not seem so pleased. She did her formal greeting but lacked the warmth and happiness. Her face had stayed stationary. She had noticed her staring at Trevor close to tears. It made her wonder if perhaps they had been lovers, and the girl had hoped for more. To her benefit she hadn't acted outwardly on her feelings. But there was a definite anger brewing behind the girls eyes, and a deep pain of heart break. Chelsea had remembered that feeling over Trevor when they were younger, and that pain that had thrust through her body when he left.

Trevor could have easily had his pick over women, but he had come for her in her broken state. Now she would be his wife, and the mother of his children. That had to be hard for someone that had yearned for that to have been them. "Darling" Chelsea said softly as they began their ride home from their long day. "I would like for you to teach me how to fight. I believe if I have confidence in being able to protect myself it will aid in my self confidence."

Trevor was a little surprised at her request but he supposed it would be good for her to learn. It would teach her the limits of her new strength and agility and also how to control them. Of course he would also have to teach her how to fight in her wolven form as well, both alone and as part of a team.

"I think that is an excellent idea my love. Of course you do realize you are going to have to start with the basics and you will not be an expert overnight. However with your new abilities it should not take you long until you are a match for any normal swordsman. Give me a month and I will have you able to defend yourself adequately. In 6 months you will be able to join my war band," he chuckled.

He began to think of a few exercises he could get her to do to strengthen herself and to make her body more limber, and then blushed as he thought of ones the could do together that would definitely help. Well those would maybe come later if she was up to it.

Trying to distract his thoughts he glanced over at her. "What brought on this train of thought my dear?"

She was glad that Trevor didn't seem to have a problem with teaching her self defense as well as how to be a fighter. Smiling at his confidence in his teaching ability and his believe in what she would be able to achieve made her hopeful of the future.

Then he asked the reasoning for her request. "I don't wish to ever be a victim again. I also need to have the confidence that in the event I find myself in trouble that I will be able to take care of myself, and our children. I am your mate, and although most seemed to rejoice in our union. I did notice one that wished to shoot daggers from her eyes. Now i'm sure nothing will come of it But as your mate, I should be expected to be strong like my Alpha."

He was so handsome and regal sitting upon his horse taking in her words. "One day I will have to go to town and you may not be available. I can't have you distracted worrying about me, now can I? she tease sticking out her tongue to him and urging her horse quickly forward back toward their home.

Trevor kicked his horse into a canter to catch up to her, letting her lead for a bit as he thought over her words.

It was true that she should learn to fight, and having a strong female Alpha was better than having a weak one. Her reasoning was very solid too. Being able to protect herself and their children was admirable, but he was never going to leave them unprotected.

However it was the mention of this other woman that had him puzzled. He had never slept with any village girl as far as he knew, and every single woman he had slept with had been once only. He had never formed any ties, always knowing which girl he had wanted.

Just who this girl was was a puzzle to him, but if she was going to cause problems he would have to find out. He would send someone to investigate when they got back.

Smiling he kicked his horse again and raced after Chelsea. She had led long enough.

He let her lead for a few minutes before he began to gain on her. His riding had improved over his many years away. Soon he had caught and they raced side by side until they finally made it back to the manor. Having not traveled the route all that much he won.

She was grinning from ear to ear with her hair all tussled. Chelsea slowly dismounted expecting that pain that once again wasn't there. The stableman took their horses and walked them to cool them off.

Taking Trevors arm she walked into their home with him. For the first time in a long time she didn't fear entering her home. With him by her side, she felt confident they could face anything that came their way. "I think after all this excitement I am going to take a bath and perhaps we can take a walk together in the garden?"

He smiled at her, sensing her new found confidence and hearing the happiness in her voice.

"Of course my love. I will get Emma to show you to the baths, and help you."

He saw her confusion and chuckled. "An idea I learned while traveling. A whole room dedicated to bathing. It has a large pool that is filled with hot water, you wash yourself with scented oils and soaps. I am sure you will find it most enjoyable if you give it a chance."

He summoned Emma and as the two walked off he smiled at Chelsea. "I will be looking forward to our walk."

He waited until they had disappeared before moving, filling his eyes and mind with as much of her as he could. Sighing he once again mad his way back to his office and the work he knew was waiting. He really did need to hire a few good people to take some of this off his hands. Still it was all important and at the moment it all needed his attention.

It had been a while since she really took a good look at herself in the mirror. Her change was remarkable. She seemed to fill out in areas she was lacking, and get a luster to her hair. The smell of the bath scents alone was enough to make her swoon. Having a whole room just for this was a marvelous idea.

Chelsea laid back in the porcelain tub and relaxed like she never had before. It was hard to believe that this would be her life now. One could almost say all the trouble she'd had before him was worth this now. She was going to be his wife, and they had a whole future ahead of them.

She had already broached the subject of them getting married sooner. It was if she was afraid at any moment it would all disappear. But she had to remember she wasn't who she was before, and Trevor would move mountains to ensure her safety.
The thought briefly entered her mind about the girl that had glared so intently at her. As if she had stolen him from her grasp Shaking her head she submerged herself and let Emma know she was ready to wash her hair.

Trevor quickly worked through all the paperwork Peters had left him. Most of it was updates on the state of the Estate, but a few were requests for money for tools and supplies. He made a note and then approved them. While he trusted the man he still kept track of everything himself. He supposed it was a remnant of his early Army career when he had been responsible for everything.

He also wrote a note for Peter's to send someone to investigate the village he had left last. What Chelsea had said bothered him a little. He could not remember visiting the place all that much, indeed since being here he must have done so only three or four times, and as a youngster he had hardly left his own village. Yet it seemed some girl had her eyes on him.

He wrote a description down as best he could from his memories and from Chelsea's description although that wasn't much and asked him to get as much information without alerting her. Maybe he was getting worried over nothing, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

By the time he was finished he figured Chelsea should be finished in the bath. He headed towards it, deciding to get cleaned up before meeting her in the garden.

Getting out of the bath she felt as if she was a new woman. She could literally stay in there for hours. Perhaps if Emma hadn't been looking bored and left her to her own devices she would have. Not wanting to seem rude or ungrateful she allowed her to wrap her up in a robe and escort her to hr room.

They had been busy since she had been out with Trevor providing her with a brand new wardrobe. It was all a bit overwhelming. Even when she had lived with her father she didn't have this many options for dresses. Choosing a cream one with a flower pattern she got dressed for her walk with Trevor. Emma brushed through her hair and ensured it was dry before styling it.

So much primping and coddling seemed to go into being a lady of the house. It was hard to wrap her head around her status and new being. She needed to find a way to make herself useful. The last thing she wanted was for him to think she was ungrateful or a nuisance. Of course he would never say she was. Shaking her head she looked out the window over the lands. This was home now. She had to work on loosing her fear about it all disappearing.

As he approached the bath he saw Emma escorting Chelsea to her room. Smiling he waited till they were out of sight then entered the baths. He would have to hurry. It would not take her long to get dressed and then get out to the gardens, although he expected Emma would try to delay her, and she did have that surprise waiting for her.

Quickly he disrobed and immersed himself in the hot water. He scrubbed himself clean and then got out and put on a robe that was kept there. Making his way to his room he looked at his clothes and decided on a casual white shirt, blue overcoat, and brown leather trousers.

Combing his hair he then left and walked out to the garden and sat in the small seat just outside the door waiting for her.

Now dressed to garden attire, she was finally released from Emmas grasp and able to leave. She made her way down the long winding staircase and out to the garden area where she located Trevor. "You look quite dashing Mi Lord" she said with a smile and curtsy.

Her eyes took a look around the beautiful gardens as she en-hailed the wonderful aromas of the plants and flowers. "this is absolutely gorgeous. It looks familiar.." she tried to figure out what memory the scene before her reminded her of. She knew she'd never been here before. But still it seemed so familiar.

Shaking her head she looked back to him catching his eyes. "You have a secret" she said with a smirk. "I could always tell when you were up to something. But i'll never tell the tell." she grinned at him and walked closer until she reached him. Reaching out with reservation she touched his face. "I am still getting use to you being real."

Trevor smiled. She had always been able to do that ever since they were kids. He had never been able to keep anything from her. Oh he could keep the secret, just not the fact that he had one, and once she knew about that she just had to know it.

Normally he had let her tease, con, bribe or somehow get it out of him. There had only been a few secrets he had managed to keep from her. One was what her father had gotten her on her tenth birthday, (A horse from his fathers farm. It was a beautiful mare she had been dying to ride. When it disappeared from it's pasture she was devastated and he almost told.) There were a few others of course, but the main one was the fact of how much he loved her. He wondered how different their lives would have been if she had managed to get that secret out of him like she had gotten most of the others.

Bowing to her he gently took her hand and began to walk with her, leading her into the gardens. "You know me too well it seems my dear," he chuckled. "I do have a secret but allow me to hold onto it for just a little longer, I assure you it is nothing to worry about, and in fact you may enjoy it," he said smiling at her.

As he led her through winding paths created by garden beds and cleverly planted shrubs and trees, the scents and sounds changed from place to place. He wondered if she would recognize the inspiration for the place. It was not exactly the same so she might not but the similarities were there.

When they had been children, her father had taken them to see a neighboring lords castle. His daughter had been a snob always trying to be one better at everything. Whatever Chelsea had she had one bigger, better and more expensive. Finally Trevor got bored with her when he saw how much she was hurting Chelsea and described Chelsea's lovely gardens with their rows of flowers, hedges, fountains, places to sit and even a hedge maze.

When he had finished he politely looked at the girl and asked, "Do you have anything like that?"

She had stood opened mouthed and then shook her head before running off. The two of them had laughed and thought nothing of it until the following year when they had to go back. They had both groaned knowing what to expect, instead she greeted them kindly before leading them through the castle and then out to a courtyard. Then she smiled wickedly as she led them through a small door and onto a terrace.

"Do your gardens look anything like this," she crowed triumphantly.

From the little terrace they could see over the entire gardens she had created. Wild birds strolled in them. Every variety of flower bloomed, and trees grew tall and proud. A large maze lured the unwary in and exquisite statues dotted the landscape. The problem was it was too much. It looked beautiful, but to Trevor who knew the land, he knew most of it would be dead in a year or two. It was a garden designed by a person with money and no sense.

The one they were walking through now was the one he had described. Balancing what the land could take and providing joy to the viewer. It would still take years to finish, but for now it was a nice start.

He continued leading her, slowing guiding her towards the center of the gardens.

She couldn't help but grin and nod as she took his arm and he led her through the fantasy garden of her youth. "my fairy garden". she exclaimed breathlessly as she took it all in. Tears formed and then fell slowly from her eyes as she took it all in. He had made one of her favorite memories come to life. "I can't believed you remembered. You caught it almost exactly as you had described to whats her face. It's absolutely stunning. Can we be married here? Can we just stay here? sleep here?."

Wrapping her arms around him she clung to him tightly. He had a way of making all of her dreams come true, even the ones she'd stored away. "Do you remember how devastated she was the next year when most of her garden had withered away. It seemed like such a bite in the ass for Karma. Though I couldn't help but feel bad for all of the plants that died."

She grinned with her head pressed against his chest. "One day I will find something that will make you as happy as you've made me through this gesture." Her nostrils flared as she took in the scent of him. The wolf in her wanted the wolf in him in a carnal way. It was unlike anything she'd ever experience or could relate to. A low hungry growl came from her lips in a light almost whisper.

He was stunned at her enthusiastic response once she realized what he had created for her, but he laughed and gathered her in his arms.

"Married here? Most definitely," he replied. "As for sleeping here tonight, well... " he trailed off as he looked down at her.

He laughed with her as she talked about Karma, but he too was saddened at the loss of so many plants and the work of all the gardeners that had gone into creating such a masterpiece being for nothing.

"You have already done so by being here with me now," he told her as he again pulled her close, then he caught the low growl she emitted and the wolf in him responded. He instantly became aroused and he pulled her even closer looking down into her eyes, a low, hungry, growl of his own escaping his mouth as he did.

Slowly he leaned down and gently kissed her lips, then again with more passion as a hunger to finally possess her filled him. Yet he controlled himself. Never had he taken a girl unwillingly and he would not start with her.

Stopping himself he leaned back up and looked at her with passion in his eyes. "Chelsea I want you. Yet we are not yet man and wife and I will respect your wishes to wait if that is what you want."

Those were some of the toughest words he had ever spoken, and if she but knew, he was actually engaged in one of the toughest battles he had ever been in. Every fiber of his being was urging him to take the woman he loved right now, yet he knew he dared not without her permission.

"I'm torn" she whispered hesitantly trying tot find the words to explain what was going on between her mind and body. "The wolf in me is feverish with the need to be with her alpha. I can feel this overwhelming desire to get on all fours before you and be mated by you. The woman in me, has loved you her entire life. She was also raised with the morality of a proper lady. If it was just us, and no one would know then i would give myself to you in a heartbeat. But how would it look for you to be bedding your fiance before we have vowed ourselves?"

The wolf in her screamed in hunger and desire. "Perhaps if we could go on a 'business' trip? To a cabin away from everyone and everything?"

She felt as though she was not only disappointing him but her wolf as well.

Trevor held her tight. Every instinct told him to push this woman to the ground and take her. He knew if he started to she would not resist and indeed would become a willing participant, but afterwards she would be disappointed in him and herself. It was that thought that kept him from doing it.

"You are right of course my love. I want you as much as you want me, but although I was not raised as a lord I know we can not risk the scandal until our engagement has been announced."

Looking down into her eyes he sighed deeply then his eyes lit up. "Your idea of business trip does sound tempting, but a little to convenient. I am sure no one would believe it and I will not have your reputation sullied by gossip when wee are going to be trying so hard not to ruin it," he smiled. "Yet as long as you do not mind stretching the truth a little I think I know a way we can meet in secret at night to satisfy our urge."

He kissed her deeply and then joined his arm with hers again as he began to walk through the garden's with a happier stride. "Give me until tomorrow lunchtime to arrange things. Until then let us enjoy this walk together."

As he kissed her deeply she was once again fighting the wolf with in that wanted to rip his clothes off and be mounted by him. With a frustrated light growl she restrained as he broke the kiss. She was glad that was thinking of her reputation as well. It was already suspicious that they were living in the same house. But there was enough staff around to verify nothing untoward was afoot.

"I would very much like that." she said blushing lightly taking his arm and continuing their walk through the garden. Now that her reputation was safe, she only need worry about him impregnating her. But she would leave that conversation for later.

"are you sure we can't get married sooner?" she questioned teasing him as they walked. They were then interrupted. "MiLord, there is a man at the door screaming about you having his property.. err his wife and demands you return her."

Chelseas eyes went wide as she gripped Trevors arm tightly.

Trevor looked into Chelsea's fear filled eyes and smiled. He patted her hand in reassurance where it clung to him and then looked at the man who was waiting for his response.

"Take the man into my office and then have two guards stationed outside of it. Then find Peters and have him meet me there." He dismissed the man and he watched as he hurried away and then turned his attention back to Chelsea.

"Do not worry my love, you will be going nowhere. I was expecting this sort of thing from that man," he spat. "The lands I gave him while not entirely worthless, required him to work on them to make them profitable. I expect he has found that out and has come to accuse me of cheating him on the deal."

He was getting a little worked up as he knew the fat pig of a man had no interest in the beauty that stood before him, but was probably going to try to gouge more lands from him. "It pains me to admit that he is not really here for you, but is only after more land. If he insults you too much I just may end up killing him."

He began to lead Chelsea towards the house pulling her close. "I want to assure you, you will never have to leave this place. We will be wed and never again will you have to live with that man. In fact if you do not want to see him you may retire to your rooms. I will summon Emma for you if you wish."

"No" she said strongly from somewhere inside of her. "He is my nightmare, I will extinguish him. I just need you by my side." Taking his arm she took a deep breath. She could feel her wolf giving her the strength she required to move forward. Walking into Trevors office she moved to his chair and took a seat across from her ex husband.

"I ain't dealing with this cow, I want whats mine." Before Chelsea knew it she was out of her seat and on the desk grabbing him by his shirt and punching him over and over again in the face. She then released him straightened her dress and sat back down like a lady.

"Call me a cow again, or refer to me as property again and you won't leave this office. Now let me make this clear to you. Under no circumstance, in any life time will you find me part of your household. You signed the divorce papers and excepted the land as is. I have put up with your shit for five years. That ended when you signed the papers. If you don't get up and leave right now, and never ever return. I will hunt you down and leave you so mangled you'll wish you were dead."

There was nothing but hate and rage that burned in her eyes as her wolf gave her the strength to face and threaten her abuser. She had his scent, and could now, she believed, track him around the world if need be. "Leave now George while I still allow it."
