Last weeks episode where Josh and Donnatella Moss finally got together, not once but twice in the same day, tickled me. The Donna character was always a little flakey, leaving her panties here and there.

I liked the other girlfriend Josh had, the one who stars in Weeds, the darkhaired gal, can't recall her name at the moment.

The election results were a twisted mirror on the last 'real' election with the exception of course of the demise of the Democrats VP candidate, Leo McGarry, who actually died of a heart attack in real life just recently.

Being a conservative, I did not appreciate the always left wing approach of the political agenda of the show but it was done well enough and with panache so that one could overlook the political content and focus on the writing and the subtleties.

Apparently the final show is next Sunday. I am saddened to see the end of the series, but then, all things come to an end, eventually.

amicus...

Edited to add: Ah, I forgot, watching the election on West Wing, reminded me of the drama of the last two elections and has me all fired up for the 2008 encounter, I wonder if it will be another close and hard fought one?

Probably. As a life-long Democrat, I have great faith in my party finding some way to blow any early polling advantage they might have and making the campaign interesting.

West Wing-wise, I was hoping the show would continue with Alan Alda as Pres, just to see that well-known super-liberal play a moderate Republican.

Rumple Foreskin

I hate to see the show go. But as amicus says, all things must come to an end. It was interesting over the years to see how politics worked on the inside. The give and take.
The sidebars of the show were great. Josh and Donna, Toby and his zealousness, CJ and her growth.
It would of been fun to Alan Alda play the role as president. It makes you wonder if his views on politics would of superceded the role he was to play as a republican president?
It was a sad loss of the actor who played Leo McGary. While his character had a heart attack in a previous season, it was strange that he should die of one also. I wish his family and friends the best.

And in one of those weird cosmic things, in the next episode, Josh is a pall bearer for Leo, while Bradley Whitford was for John Spencer.

Old fogeys like me note : John Spencer started out as one of Patty Duke's admiring young men on her original show ... "They're cousins, identical cousins..."
