Okay, so Dawn and I will be done posting stories at the end of the year-at least that's the plan. Right now we're copying all of our submissions but we're running into a problem on her audio stories. Does anybody know a simple way to download her audio stories from RealPlayer to a CD? Does anybody want to do it for us? There will probably be two or three more before the year is up but we don't have copies of the stories and I can't do it for some reason. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Depending on your audio card, buring streaming audio to CD varies from simple to impossible. If you have a SoundBlaster with a "What-U-Hear" option in the volume control panel, you can set your Recording input to What-U-Hear (or Wave Out), and fire up Windows Sound Recorder to record the audio that's playing through your speaker. Then lopen the Real Audio stream. Windows Sound Recorder saves the Real Audio output (literally what you're hearing through the PC speaker) as a Microsoft WAV file, which burns straight to CD.

Sounds complicated, but it ain't.

No, because I don't have access to a PC for a month (I'm on vacation) but I'm happy to explain it for you. Post the URL of one of the audio stories, and I'll give you the For Dummies version :)

Why don't you just right click on the audio link and "Save Target As" ???

Oh yeah  I was assuming it was streaming audio, which that doesn't work with (like with online Radio stations).

Well, what impressive said is interesting because some guy at a computer place over the weekend said something like that but then he lost me. Okay, you can still give me the Dummie course with whatever is easiest. I picked an old one because it has two links for the audio so I assume that makes it more difficult. Then again, maybe not.

By the way, we're not leaving til the end of the year which is way more than a month-sure you don't wanna make a buck :D

It is. All you get if you do that is a tiny stream info file.

Instead of trying to record the stream live, why not contact Lit and see if they can send over the files instead? They obviously have proper files, since they are the ones streaming it.

Okay, I checked the link, and unfortunately I was right and Imp was wrong.
Saving the link just saves the link -- not the actual file.

But even so there is a way to download the actual audio file to disk( if you're sneaky) and use the Free realplayer to burn it to CD. I can show you how to do that, or, if you don't have too many stories, I can download them, upload them to putfile.com and you can download them and burn the CD yourself.

How many stories you got?
