I recently got a home and kids cell phone to save money by getting ride of my home phone. The Cells were cheaper.

I have DSL right now and was going to get a new provider.

Well with the cost of the Linksys I need, the installation and a good month of payment. i just cant do it right now.

I need to budget my bills a bit better and with the internet being of the least importance...it will be the first to go along with my home phone.


Soooo, if I take the leap and get it shut off...I may be gone for a while.


i will see how things sit on payday.

So if I disappear for a while....you know why.

why don't you get vonage or cable phone? unlimited calling with vonage for I believe $25 or unlimited calling for $40 with time warner cable...

I wanna ditch the $65 for home phone and pay the 27$ a month for satellite Internet, but need a linksys modem.

My cable company does not provide any other services

why don't you get vonage or cable phone? unlimited calling with vonage for I believe $25 or unlimited calling for $40 with time warner cable...

I dont need a phone aded, I have to many.

My cells are in a contract for another 20 months

Yup. Not a big deal. Most phone companies will sell you the two as a package but you can just get DSL. It will probably be a few $$ month more than the DSL portion of a DSL/Phone service package.

Did they tell you that with satellite internet you have to pay for your equipment?

Mine cost about $600 just for the equipment, but then again, maybe they got some special deal running in your area.

I chose the lesser of 2 evils and went with AT&T. My cable co. is owned by the devil.

i have had it before and the equiptment is rented and included in price

strange...I believe time warner cable is even going to be starting a cell phone LOL my cable company does pretty much everything...

Ok i now have stand alone DSL.

It went up $10 a month, but still better then 65

It is now $36.99 including all taxes.

Later on I will go ahead and switch totally
