Weapons of Mass Destruction

Nothing confirmed. They aren't going to look to hard until they get done kicking some ass first.

That has got to be a load of wishful thinking...

Wasn't the Bush crowd saying only a few days ago that there is a red line drawn on the map encircling Baghdad and that once the Coalition forces cross it Saddam will be expected to unleash his WMD.

Well I wouldn't suggest they wait too long to start looking...

Supposedly, the red line was something they intercepted or heard about from Baghdad. Who knows? I really can't think that Saddam would use them on the Coallition forces. I mean, that would take an unreasonable and unstable person to do that, right? /end sarcasm

I honestly hope that he wouldn't. It would sway the world opinion too much against him. If I were him, I wouldn't. I would be getting rid of everything and then say to the world (if I was still alive), see? Neener!

Didn't they just find like 3,000 brand new chemical protection suits somewhere is Iraq yesterday? That right there sounds like they were planning soething to me. And what about that mural they found?

the UN seized 10,000 liters of anthrax from iraq about 3 weeks ago..or 2 weeks ago
that scares the shit out of me

That's about 6000 so far altogether. Oh, and don't forget the atropine.

The war is a week old...people want instant results and it's not going to happen. I believe when the dust clears and the searching can take place they will show up.

I wasn't looking for instant results. I was just wondering if anything was found yet.

I wasn't saying you...more of a general statement and there are those around it would apply to. Our media is the worse than any single person is. Have you been listening to some of the questions and frustration they have been showing at the press conferences...? It's almost comical. Some reporter named Wolf from the New Yorker stood up at the Press Conference in I think Qatar, and proceeded to blab on about how uninformed they are and questioning why they should even attend the press conferences. The same people wondering why chemical weapons haven't been found yet are the same one's that are wanting the military to divulge every last detail of ongoing operations.

When did they ever find Anthrax in Iraq? I have been watching this thing pretty close - I do not recall hearing anything like that before?

But we all watch the spectacle don't we? Why is that? Is it fascination with death and war? Is it patriotism? Is is it hope that we'll hear things have come to a "quick end"? I find myself listening and then saying OK, that's enough. I've heard enough to be informed but I don't need to be glued to this. Is it that we are bored? I don't know. All I know is that I want the facts of what we have done and why. Then I'll make my decisions.

So what is the USA and Britain doing with CBW suits? Are they also planning something, then?

It's like so what? Maybe they're expecting the US forces to use CS gas and other incapacitants --- that would certainly keep the casualties down if they did. Certainly the war will be a testing ground for the latest range of minimal-lethality weapons when the Coalition gets close to fighting in the large cities.

I don't have a problem with balanced press coverage of ongoing events, can you imagine how public opinion might have been swayed in America during world war II if every last event, battle and operation was being covered. Those few years America was involved would have seemed like 50 years.

You are really just clueless, aren't you. You are obviously blinded by your agenda.

Besides which, much the same could be said about a lot of people here----everyone has an agenda. So what?

I never quite got this anyway. If you and I are going to have a fight to the death, does it make sense that we set some ground rules first. Like:

NO kicking in the balls
NO eye gouging
NO strikes to the throat or ears.

I have news for you. If you are coming after me to kill me with highly advanced weapons that I haven't even dreamed of, I'm using whatever's at my disposal to kill you first. That includes my "old fashioned" knife, lighter with can of hair spray or whatever else I can find.

I don't care what your uninformed points are, pp_man.

That's the beauty of America dude. We can voice our opinion. If that is what this war is about, the American way - the right to be heard, the right to be free and defending that freedom, then let everyone be heard.

For me, it's a lot like having a loved one in surgery....I'm deeply concerned about all that can go wrong, whether it will be a complete or partial success, whether there will be any lasting side effects, etc. There's nothing to do but pray. The rest of the time we hope, or worry, or look for information that makes us feel better about the unknown( information about procedures & past successes, progress reports, etc.)

I pay attention because I have a preoccupation that won't let me forget, or allow me to focus on anything else for long.

Anyone? Can anyone confirm the statement about Anthrax being found in Iraq?

This cannot be true. It would be plastering the news right now.
