Well, last year I lost my job.

I wasn't fired. My funding was cut.

I had recieved numerous awards recommendations on my ability and was informed that I was actually gonna get get promoted...UNTIL...

Until "they" suspected that I was "GAY"...

Until "they" suspected that because I was "potentially" gay that I may be a threat to security...

Until "they" realized that if they pushed the right buttons that I would respond "inappropriately"....which I did.

The claims have been filed. And now we will see just how much dancing the federal government will do to get out of their own laws.

So I was wondering...just how many folks here have ben victomized by discrimination based upon gender and/or sexual orientation, and what have you done in your own defense?

Are you a federal employee? If so, I would think you're protected under Executive Order 13087, though if not...you might have to wait until ENDA passes. Go figure that the government has already thought to protect its own, but it can't decide about protecting everybody else.

I don't know what this Executive Order 13087 that Etoile talks about is, but what does the "which I did" statement refer to? Anything "they" can hold against you, no matter if you are gay or not?

Just wondering....
Executive Order 13087 prevents the federal government from discriminating in employment on the basis of sexual orientation. In other words, the government can't fire you for being gay. Private companies still can, until ENDA passes.

I just hope you have some sort of documentation/proof. I also worry that if "your funding ran out" they may know exactly what they were doing. Good luck.

Also, fuck "them" homophobic assholes.

I am still wondering if the OP is a federal employee or not. If not, she might be s.o.l. in this case.
