I think this calls for a celebration!!!

But, well the hell is everybody?????

It took me a couple of days until I saw it -- my subscriptions to the threads on the old forum broke with the move, so I had just thought that everyone was really quiet. All worn out after the first event maybe. LOL

Hmmm ...
A nice cold glass of water to start, I think. Plenty of ice cubes in it, thanks, they'll be very handy. With that, some strawberries. Fresh, big, red ... that lovely slightly rough skin can be a real treat. Some coffee - strong, black, syrupy. The sort of drink that'll make you growl when you smell it and then kick you into hyperawareness when you've had a sip. Croissants would have to be next. Soft, buttery taste. Some chocolate spread to go with them, and some honey. Peel off a little bit, flavour it, and then play with a nipple before letting it glide between your lips, your tongue making the delicate pastry melt. Eventually more coffee.

I love breakfast in bed. Thanks heaps tiger ;-)

Drake

Mornin' Drake.....

Would you love some Nutella for that croissant? :)
(that's the only good chocolate spread that I know
of that's yummy)

Is U.P. too loud or is everyone else too quiet

SA

U.P. has made the same complaint. I've been lax lately about starting new discussions. I spend a good bit of my time to keep current with the new poems and the challenges. I wish participation was higher and feedback more generous. I'll see what I can come up with to do my part.

I think a community thrives when members participate. That requires some level of commitment whether it's once a week posting a string of feedback responses or supporting discussions here. Whatever it is, it's all appreciated.

I've seen communities die for a lack of participation, and I hope it doesn't happen here. It's not U.P. world. He's simply one of the more vocal ones here. While he is not indispensable, I wonder if we would miss him if he were silent.

We have over 12 poems in round 2 of the Olympics. Is it unreasonable to hope that at least each one would get half a dozen replies?

Peace,

daughter

I was wondering what is this U.P. world? I like the
guy, but doesn't anyone else have something to say?
Can't someone else create and maintain a thread?
Think up events? I'm lazy and find myself waiting for
the next comment or thread so I shouldn't yap. As
soon as I think of something I'll post it. No offense
to U.P. but we need more diversity in the direction
of the board.
SA Storm

If I start saying something, then the bombs will drop
on me!

Seriously, if I do have something to say, I will post it....
however, while I do believe that Unmasked Poet is quite
enthusiastic here, we poets should all have some sort of
say in these parts.....we asked, we received our poetry
forum, and now we must put it to good use! I hear ya
guys on being lazy and waiting for the next thing.....I've
been at times lazy and not always posting up replies, etc.
right away......

as a new member of this 'community', i'm still trying to find out my way around, learn how to use all the cool little gizmos and doodads, and not make a complete fool of myself.

i must confess that my decision to even post anything to this site was a result of UP's active presence.his obvious love of poetry and language, and willingness to provide honest, useful and humorous criticism of peoples' work inspired me to throw myself into the fray.

over the course of the past several months i have watched the overall quality of the poetry on this site increase, and the forum seems to be becoming a quite fertile atmosphere of creativity and learning.

the combination of knowledge, commitment and compassion is rare indeed.
i for one would sorely miss the masked man...

it would be nice to receive more direct feedback on work, although i know it is time consuming and there is alot to read on this site.

thanks to all of the great writers and readers who
take time to be a part of this big little world!

Dedpoet, welcome!

Dedpoet.....

firstly, welcome! :)

secondly, what you said about the overall quality of
poetry here on Lit increasing......I do believe that is true,
because I first signed on Lit back in July '01, the poetry
was there but not as popular as the stories.......I made
my splash (as you probably have read and heard throughout
the board(s) ), and now its January, and due to strong
efforts and noise made by the poet community here, we
finally got our own poetry board.

thirdly, you can't go wrong w/ the poets and their poems
on here.....a garden variety I must say! :)

okay

not to rag on y'all, but what's up? You have your own place, but nobody's home. You got folks offerin' favors for votes, but the feedback is slim. Doggin' my boy, U.P in one breath and in the next askin' where is he.

Can you say "Fickle"?

Jen, are you a parrot? Stop quotin' folks and start a real discussion or is cheerleadin' the best you can do?

hiya Jazzy.......

I was born a cheerleader....."rah rah rah!" :D
It's easier for me to quote on the post first, then I
reply to it..... (by the way, I like U.P...he's cool)

If you want discussion by me...I invite you check out
two new polls of mine on the General Board....both
are generating much discussion....they are fun polls,
and do tie in to Valentine's Day which is coming up not
too far away.......

As for parrot......"JAZZY WANT A CRACKER? JAZZY WANT A CRACKER?" :D

KA-PEESH, BADDABING, BADDABOOM, YA KNOW WHAT I'M SAYIN'?
