This particular penguin suffers from sea sickness on ferries...

Oh, and that's a slightly shorter trip. I forgot about that possibility, which is stupid because I am not a great lover of ferries either. In Greece, I took a ferry from Piraeus to Paros island... OMG! I was in the middle of the boat, somewhere down by the keel, so the rocking and rolling was less there than anywhere. Up top, the decks were awash with people heaving up.

Then I visited the neighbouring island, Naxos, on a day trip. I was still eating breakfast as I boarded! That went over the side, and I was so ill all I could do at Naxos was sit on the quay feeling ill, watching the rats and waiting to take the ferry back... Ugh.

The last trip home was blissfully calm. That was the only bit of luck.

On the flip side, I always used to love the Woolwich Ferry, back when I was a kid and my mother took me to her parents on Saturdays. Of course, that was only about 400 yards across the Thames, so it was hard to get really ill...

It occurs to me that somewhere along the line, I lost my proud, and tall, martian heritage. Ok, so maybe it wasn't so proud, and maybe I'm not so tall, but at least I won't be fed herring and lose my tailfeathers in odd places...

And please dont mention sea sickness.... I am the worlds worst sailor. Took a summer job with Irish Ferries many years ago while at college.... sailing between Rosslare and Cherbourg.... supposed to be two weeks working.. one week off... I survived one round trip( 2 days) and came home!!!!!

LOL Sao...Hudson's Bay is a really large bay that is somewhat in the middle of Canada and even its southern tip is fairly north (at least to us South Eastern Canadians it is) so its very beautiful in a wild....cold....lots of wildlife and plenty of mosquitos kind of way...nice place to visit but I wouldnt want to live up there (but dont tell Dalt I said that...he needs to think I was truly offended)
