I'm not one asking for your guns to be taken away. I'm the one who had to fight to keep mine. There is no "right" here to own one, it's a privilege.

I was thinking about that deer-over-the-fence thing from yesterday and it dawned on me, I'd wager those little fuckers have learned to climb, especially metal fences. The landlady had a beagle bitch who got so she couldn't bear to stay in the yard, and it's a really nice yard. The other beagle and the labs love it and never try to go out. LL would walk the fence line trying to be sure that there were no holes and that the electric bit was intact, in place, and on, but the dog was determined and persistent. Anyway, the day came when she went out and didn't come back, so LL regained better access to her yard. So, maybe, deer have learned to climb, too, and where food is concerned, they'd develop some persistence.


So, I reckon that at whatever point large-gardening/small-farming commences, there will be a fairly high fence, a bad-tempered donkey, a loaded rifle and dry powder. Problem with deer is, there are too damned many of the predator-less little fuckers.


A bit more effort than hanging pictures . . . .
