Hey there TH, I fab up steel targets for sale to my customers. Imagine if you will two bipod sat facing each other with a length round tube fixed sawhorse style in-between the bipod legs. I utilize ar 360 1 inch plate (drops from the wear material I repair loader buckets with) I weld them in a 18inch x 24 inch square gong. Suspended with piece of conveyor belt. They are rather durable.. I sold almost all of my modern firearms to fund my passion for blackpowder muzzleloaders . That being said I don't strike the gong with anything harder than pure lead. I actually make money with the darn things hope this helps.

You can still find a few guys shooting high power with bolt guns. Some are high masters.


Frankly, at 200 yards, the difference between a 10 from a bolt gun and a 9 from a semi-auto is . . . you're still dead.

It's eye opening to say the least . The questions I have to the anti gun nazis are as follows. Why are you sniveling about the AR 15 when over half of the gun deaths are from using a hand gun. Only 3% of the deaths involving rifles that would include the AR 15. Over half of the gun related deaths were suicides, self inflicted deaths. If you anti gun nazis want to really care about humanity.....do something about the suicide epidemic...... 20,000 people a year kill themselves employing a firearm. Which climbed after 2021.
The gun related deaths in 1974 were 16 per 100,000 and in 2021 it is 14 per 100,000 still below the peak in 1974 that includes not taking into account the rise in US population.

The only thing I shoot that is pure lead is .22lr so my bet is what you built would not work for me. Which is too bad.
