I think I have 3 of them, still. I gave one to my nephew.


I do prefer my US rifles, and these M1s are also proven Nazi-killers.

I don't think most soldiers ever made those kinds of shots. I reckon they let the other guys know that they were under fire, however.
 
Essentially it's trench warfare and mostly artillery duels. Last I heard upwards of 80%+ casualties were from artillery.
 
Yeah, I haven't read much on the day-to-day that they have going on over there. I am reading an interesting book about the Easter front from WW2, and it does go on about how things are just different in that part of the former USSR and how it was hard on both armies. The Germans didn't have much idea of what they were getting into and it's kind of surprising that they did as well as they did. It's mud for half a year. I know, infrastructure has improved and there is more an more varied equipment, but some aspects are the same or similar.

No one should be victims of gun violence. No one. Not even gun happy trumpers at a rally.

Still a curious oddity that these people crouched with apparent real fear as the shots rang out.

Could the reality of ones mortality be a middle ground starting point for both sides to reach common sense gun reform???
