Has anyone checked out the new Army standard issue XM7/XM250 (auto version) 6.8X51mm Next Generation Rifle?

Apparently, the new XM157 Fire Control smart scope sighting system is getting bad reviews. Just looking at this rifle and digging into some of its details brings visions of another military boondoggle. The rifle's unloaded weight is 8.4 pounds and assuming the new sight is a fail, by the time you add a loaded 20-round magazine, a suppressor, a laser/thermal sight, and a tactical light, you looking at almost 13.5 lbs. Imagine going door to door, room to room, and snapping that big dog up or down into the line of sight from either the high ready, or low ready, every time you rounded a corner, or encountered a threat, all the while humping 40-50 pounds of plates, ammo, and gear. Two rooms, a closet, and a flight of stairs and they'll be medivacing our GI Janes to the nearest field hospital.
