I found such-a-deal on new Very Good Brand, on sale at another distributor, of the 20-round aluminum mags. So I bought a bunch as February's 2A purchase. I'm looking forward to function firing them. I've gotten so I kinda prefer them to the 30-rounders.

I know. I do (kind of) wonder about a 7mm/.30-cal in a short barreled configuration. .458 SOCOM, I don't wonder about.

We'll see how that XM7 fairs in the next war. An ammo can of 6.8mm XM1186 (800 rounds) weighs 40 lbs, the same weight of 800 rounds of 5.56mm weighs 26 lbs. An ammo can of 5.56mm 1200 rounds weighs 37 lbs. So when it comes to the ability to gaining fire superiority the physical cost on the individual soldier will be greater in my opinion with punishing ammunitions loads being carried and debilitating rates of recoil absorption over potentially long periods of time. Imagine every soldier having to carry the ammo load of a WWII BAR man.

To the best of my knowledge, it is the residents who are shooting each other with the guns that do not exist there. It seems not to be the government doing the killing.
