Wat’s Carbon Water-N-Stuff Thread - Concepts In Iron And Wood!!!

Sad will be the day when the American people forget their traditions and their history, and no longer remember that the country they love, the institutions they cherish, and the freedom they hope to preserve, were born from the throes of armed resistance to tyranny, and nursed in the rugged arms of fearless men.

Shine, Perishing Republic

By: Robinson Jeffers

While this America settles in the mould of its vulgarity,
heavily thickening to empire,
And protest, only a bubble in the molten mass, pops
and sighs out, and the mass hardens,

I sadly smiling remember that the flower fades to make fruit,
the fruit rots to make earth.
Out of the mother; and through the spring exultances,
ripeness and decadence; and home to the mother.

You making haste haste on decay: not blameworthy; life
is good, be it stubbornly long or suddenly
A mortal splendor: meteors are not needed less than
mountains: shine, perishing republic.

But for my children, I would have them keep their
distance from the thickening center; corruption
Never has been compulsory, when the cities lie at the
monster's feet there are left the mountains.

And boys, be in nothing so moderate as in love of man,
a clever servant, insufferable master.
There is the trap that catches noblest spirits, that caught
they say God, when he walked on earth.

^^^More precious words of wisdom from the guy who recently got his wings trimmed for posting that Molotov cocktails are a "solution" to provlems. Hmmm, was that a "solution" at Governor Shapiro's residence? How about the recent firebomb attack on peaceful protesters?

But, hey, Wat quotes the Dalai Lama and Islamic scholars, so he must be credible, right?
Let’s hope his supposed self reflection will temper his violent tendencies

From passion arises sorrow and from passion arises fear. If a man is free from passion, he is free from fear and sorrow.

~ The Buddha

We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other,
to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment,
but it is transient. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.
If we share with caring, lightheartedness and love,
we will create abundance and joy for each other.
And then this moment will have been worthwhile

Job says:

"What I feared has come upon me;

what I dreaded has happened to me.
I have no peace, no quietness;

I have no rest, but only turmoil.”

Our Lit libturds sound the same.

They should embrace Job, as in, go out and get one.

Worthless gits.

Hmmm, someone seems to have their image privileges still intact.

I bet that Laurel pays you per post more than she does me, too.

Passionate hatred can give meaning and purpose to an empty life. Thus people haunted by the purposelessness of their lives try to find a new content not only by dedicating themselves to a holy cause but also by nursing a fanatical grievance. A mass movement offers them unlimited opportunities for both.

The Milgram Shock Experiment, conducted by Stanley Milgram in the 1960s, tested obedience to authority. Participants were instructed to administer increasingly severe electric shocks to another person, who was actually an actor, as they answered questions incorrectly. Despite hearing the actor’s screams, most participants continued administering shocks, demonstrating the powerful influence of authority figures on behavior.

Key Takeaways

  • Aim: The experiment studied obedience to authority, exploring whether individuals would obey instructions to harm another person because an authority figure told them to.
  • Method: Participants were instructed by an authority figure to administer increasingly intense electric shocks to a “learner” (an actor), who feigned pain and distress.
  • Results: A significant percentage of participants obeyed the authority figure and administered the maximum level of shocks, despite their apparent discomfort.
  • Conclusion: The study demonstrated that ordinary people are surprisingly likely to obey authority figures, even when those orders conflict with their own moral beliefs.

Now, what do you reckon that some of our "Best Minds" here would have no more compunction than John Demjanjuk if told that "it's okay, you're just following orders."
