Wasn't covered in 7th grade grammar in 1985.

The rules of all style guides, NYT, CMS and all any other serious ones, are in agreement - just like 7th grade. You add an 's' to the name. The only problems come when the noun ends with an 's'. There has always been discussion of whether you add 'I have two iPhone 4ses' or 'I have two I Phones4s'. Try, I know, two James's or Jameses.

This one says that the companies that make the devices prefer that you leave the brand name intact and make the device plural- two iPad 2 tablets, not two iPad 2s. (Two iPhone 5s smartphones)

Ah, I think that's down to copyright law (or, at least, as interpreted by some high-fee lawyers).

In the case of something like a Boeing 737, we normally don't bother with word Boeing. We all know what a 737 is and who makes it! So = 737s
And that also goes for Airbus A320 or whatever. so A320s.
