I hold them on the branches with red and green clothespins.
I was going to string popcorn, but I ate it all....however it was easier to floss.

You think mainstream gay life styles are just peachy then? Good to know where we have you, old boy.

I just re-read the original post (because I don't want to work) and I realised that the kids had "Learned that lottery money benifits the schools" in which case, the Rep was quite right to object.
The kids were lied to, as Lady Jeanne and SelinaKytten have already said- That sucks. Recycling, if that were the intent, I would be happy to support.

I wonder if the objector had been a student's mother what the outcome would have been. My guess is they'd have told her to stuff it, but because Mr. Representative didn't like it, it was removed immediately. I think the whole thing is ridiculous as hell. As well as the whining that the children learned misinformation. Gimme a break. If people want to take up a cause and complain about their children being misinformed by the school district, why don't they begin with things like the truth about our history books. Mine spent 40+ pages justifying our participation in Vietnam, for example.

My opinion is that if the lottery has been legalized in Oklahoma, whomever was selling it did a good job. One of the large selling points when it was up for voting in TX was that it benefitted schools. Actually, if memory serves, there is a breakdown of how it's done on their website. *shrug* Most likely, the parents in Oklahoma are under the impression that the lottery does indeed help their children because that's the way a different senator advertised it. So, basically, the point here is that if a member of your state legislature wants or does not want something, they're going to do whatever they can to get it. And if they happen to be on the losing side, they're going to stalk any reference to the loss and make everyone else pay. To hell with any kind of morality or justice.
