Are there any Americans here that support Bush and understand why he is taking this country to war? I don't understand why he would take such a forceful action against Hussein and not N. Korea. I realize it must only have to do with the oil.

As it stands now, I think he is an idiot.

Can anyone change my mind?

I'm not convinced anyone knows the real reason, including Bush himself.

Based on your comments, changing your mind is impossible.

Why would anyone bother to try and explain anything to you.

Maybe he doesn’t want to antagonize North Korea to take action while the preponderance of our military forces is tied up in the Middle East Napoleon? I like you strategy there, piss off North Korea into instigating a war that we are not ready to fight yet…And GB is the idiot here?

Yes, in the named axis of evil, two of the capitals are in close proximity.

Do not rule out the bombing of the North Korean bomb factory...

... by the Chinese.

War!!!

Here's my point of view on why President Bush went after Saddam Hussain.
First. Hussain has been building weapons of mass destruction and using them against the Kurds, the Iranians and his own people for decades. These have been primarily chemical and biological agents.
Second. Hussain had been trying since the 1970's to gain nuclear weapons. The nuclear reactor which Israel bombed in 1981, was bought from France in a deal brokered by Jaques Cheriac. The reactor would give Hussain's scientists a source of enriched uranium and possibly plutonium, whic would enable him to make a nuclear weapon.
Third. Hussain has fired scud missles into his neighboring countries, such as Kuwait, Iran, Saudia Arabia and also at Israel.
Given that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, two conclusions can be reached.
One, that is would only be a matter of time before Saddam Hussain or one of his sons aquires a nuclear weapon, either by building one or buying one.
Two, given his propensity for attacking other countrys, it would be only a matter of time before he attempted to attack the United States. That would not be difficult with a nuclear weapon. All he would have to do would be put it on a ship, sail the ship into New York Harbor (or Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Charleston, take your pick) and detonate it.
If the United States had a choice, since hindsight is 20/20, of stopping Adolph Hitler in 1935 or so or waiting seven years after he had been appeased by the British and the French, and then conquered almost all of Europe and North Africa, I think the wise choice would have been1935 instead of 1942. Remember the League of Nations had put similar restraints on Germany after World War One that the United Nations had put on Saddam Hussain but did not have the authority to enforce them.
I hope that answers any questions as to why we are at war.

What an original idea for a thread.

It's typical of an oppressor to sling beastial insults toward a Balsamian.

It's just their culture, PC.

I'm going to bed now.

I will now have appropriate nightmares regarding this conversation.

Thank you for our "warm up to draaah's nightmare" conversation.

Well, duh.

The Balsamians were heavily influenced by the Ciderians when they colonized the country of Vingary.

The Ciderians were notorious for keeping company with small animals, namely ferrets, as they were not only frantic little companions, but they tasted good roasted on a spit.

The Ciderians were little people, and even made little ferret coats out of ferret fur.

I'm going to die now.
