Received a phone call this morning from my mother. She was more than just upset and needed someone to talk with.

It seems my father hasn't been feeling well for the past couple of weeks. Tired, run down and unable to eat much. He has lost weight. He visited a couple of M.D.'s who both told him it was the "Flu".

Then he came downstairs the other day and my mother freaked. He was Jaundiced. She immediatly had him call his M.D. who told him he might be able to fit him in next week. My mother then drive him to her G.P. who saw him immediately. He was diagnosed with Gall Bladder problems and had an Ultrasound where they found his Gall Bladder was inflamed.

This evening he goes in for a C.T. Scan.

It is unknown what is causing this problem.

He didn't want my mother to contact us about this but she felt she needed to. So now it's time to wait for news.

Hang in There!!!

Hey Cat! Please know that I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers for a complete and speedy recovery! Hang in there!!!

Thank you for posting this. I am certain that you, your father -- and your family will benefit.

There are many who believe that prayer, meditation, 'sending their best' -- whatever --- works.

Your post gives us a chance to have that work ... in us.

Sounds as if your mom may have saved your dad's life by being observant.

The good news is my mother was observant and made him go to the M.D.

How bad the inflamation is I don't know yet.

On the other hand the surgery to remove the Gall Bladder is now being done Arthroscopicly in most cases and is almost an out patient procedure. The outcome from this surgery is usually good depending on what caused the problem in the first place, and there are few changes needed after the surgery.

Thanks for the good thoughts all.

Jeez. Good for your Mom and I'm glad he was correctly diagnosed. The flu has killed more people with other diseases.

Thoughts and prayers for you all, Cat. Keep us updated, please.

Love and strength being sent telepathically to you and your whole family, Cat.

PS) Explain to non-native English speaker: what does "jaundiced" mean?
