Voting Absurdity

OK Not to make a scene and this doesn't bother me but in the light of all the other voting trauma I thought I would add my own about disappearing votes.

My poem The Taking Of Yukiko has nine comments but only has seven votes, from a high of 12.

The Witch has eight comments and eight votes from a high of eleven.

Others have suddenly dropped votes after a long period of being stable.

I know a wax efigy should be made of me and everyone should stick a needle in it for starting this thread. I just want to stress my ego is untouched but I couldn't resist highlighting the absurdity.

I don't know much about the voting system, other than I don't like it because it seems pointless and probably counterproductive.

But a poem that has 9 comments, yet only 7 votes, doesn't seem kosher, even in a system this absurb.

And you're a funny guy. I love reading your posts. There is always a clever twist somewhere that makes me smile a little.

Okay, let's ALL fucking admit it. "The voting system bothers me". Oh, you betcha! Me too and I haven't said a word. Pretend, pretend, pretend. Not only is it fucked up but I'm sick and tired of all the cliques. I've said fanstory is much worse but at least they're on it and know it. You oldies stick together, vote and comment, but don't give many newbies a chance. I did say "many" - not all. I used to comment on every poem but that was when I was Christina O. Leigh and well, a few other names before that, too. But things changed and you all know it! Contact Laurel? (however you spell it) That's funny! You know how many times I wrote and never got a response or something fixed?? Good God! Instead of starting a thread about incest yesterday on the G.B., Laurel should be taking care of business. Yes, this is a large site like I said in another post, but I'll now finally say it's pathetic. It just made me sick when I read that thread yesterday.

And good God, (AGAIN said) if it's about pussy and cocks and not so romantic or GOD FORBID if it's dark! Since I'm a dark writer, most assume it's non-fiction. "Oh, I'm afraid to comment because it's seems so close to home." Jesus Christ! Poetry, people! Fucking poetry! Does it really matter what it's about? Oh wait, we're on a sex site, therefore, we should be writing only romantic shit or happy, happy, praise the Lord for the flowers in my garden!

Laurel, get your ass moving! You old poets, it's not all about you! Now I had my rant for the day and it felt good!

What are you talking about with all that old poets crap? Old, new, everyone around here usually contributes in some way, as well as whines. You really can turn the voting off. You know that, don't you? Cliques? Like Art's? Or some of us that have been together for years? Maybe they're cliques, maybe just groups of people who talk with each other on a daily basis. Join in if you feel left out. Turn off your voting if it bothers you. Tell Laurel to move her ass in a PM. She usually answers PMs, more than emails. I think giving you a free board to play around on is a pretty big fucking deal. She doesn't owe any of us a perfect voting system. I'm sure she'll eventually try to update it and improve when she can. And even if she does, someone will continue to bitch, won't they?

Eve, I've done the PM thing to get no answer. I just finally gave up. About the cliques: well, I'm sure you can figure that out for yourself. You know who they are. I didn't say I felt left out, so to speak. I've always had a big mouth. <grins> I comment when I feel it's needed (on the boards and such) But not always have I been honest about how I feel. Hell, who does? There has been many old poets here that have taken their poetry down. Makes some wonder why and it shouldn't.
