I love the Fox News Channel, even if there are woosie or overdone bitches running the show. They really are prompt.

Okay, there is a virus going around now, conceeled as a Peace message. DON'T even open it if it says anything about Peace between the US and Islam. It will fuck you if you do.

More info boys?

Where's Dill, with his norton links?

Yoo hoo! :)

Already done... you're a day late! *lol*

"Another computer virus alert"

http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47460&highlight=virus

I'll post here what I did on that thread:

This is a "Category 2" threat - meaning it is of low level concern - it is reasonably harmless and containable (of course, if you're infected you wouldn't consider it harmless - but its all relative these days)

W32.Vote.A@mm is a mass-mailing worm that is written in Visual Basic. When executed, it will email itself out to all email addresses in the Microsoft Outlook address book. The worm will insert two .vbs files on the system, and it will also attempt to delete files from several antivirus products.

Subject of the email is "Fwd:peace BeTweeN AmeriCa and IsLaM!" - Attachemnt is "WTC.exe"Message in the body of the email is "HiiS iT A waR Against AmeriCa Or IsLaM !? Let's Vote To Live in Peace!"

The reason this is category 2 is that if you are running an antivirus program it will be detected. If you're not running an antivirus program... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? (*smile*)

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Make sure that you have the most recent virus definitions for whatever antivirus program you are running

2. Start your antivirus program, and make sure that it is configured to scan all files.

3. Run a full system scan.

4. Delete all files that are detected as W32.Vote.A@mm. If the worm has run and your antivirus program is installed in C:\Program Files\, you should reinstall your antivirus program.

5. If the computer has been rebooted after the infection, or if the computer seems very unstable, then you need to reinstall the operating system.

I received a warning about this notice today from a daily joke I subscribe to. You can never be too careful when it comes to viruses!

So let me ask what is probably a silly question. I have Outlook, but it's not configured for use. I get all my mail from Hotmail. Do these Outlook specific worms affect me at all?

To my understanding, worms are worst than viruses. Worms affect your Windows and can get transferred into your computer even when you have it off. Viruses can only be downloaded, like from e-mail or webpages. Thank God for Norton Anti-Virus.

April, do you need an anti-virus? Go to www.freecdsoftware.com. That's where I got Norton. All you'll have to pay is shipping & handling, which was $4.95 when I got the CD.

Yes April - you could be affected. Even if your outlook address book isn't "enlisted" to email the worm from you to everyone in your book - you can still be emailed the work to your hotmail from a friend using outlook.

Again - make sure you have an antivirus program installed and that you update definitions AT LEAST once a week.

Fox News

...also reported that 10 cops had been found alive under the WTC. And that Bush had won Florida (his cousin helped with that tidbit). Etc. Etc. That cop thing was the last time I believe them. I bought a NY Post once because of a big headline that turned out to be absolutely false. They are an hysterical, right-wing, cynical source of waste.
