Virus Alert

Yeppers, been dealing with this one all day. Our virus protection hadn't caught it yet, but my users seem to have learned all the lessons I taught them very well. I had a dozen people report this and identify it as a virus as soon as they got it, just by the way the e-mail was formatted. We didn't have a single infection.

You know, there are times when these people drive me nuts with their ignorance, but they sure came through this time. I have to give em props for not being gullible!

Thanks, for the warning, Cathleen!

I got the version, "Your IP address has been Logged..." but I was checking in webmail first, and knew better than opening an email like this. I suspected it was just this, a bad virus or worm.
Be carefull out there!

That's a different worm as far as I know. We've been seeing that here for some time now, though we had a rush this morning.

take it from someone who has lost everything on their computer over 3 times in the last year. Do whatever the anti-virus suggests! I went through a lot of bad anti-virus software which was the reason I got a virus, each time I changed companies and so far I'm on a role with a winner

We've got a big centrally managed Symantec system that has worked VERY well for us in the past. I couple this with a full backup solution so if soemthing does happen we can recover. That's something most home users don't do, back up your important data. You can always reformat your PC, but you can replace those family photos.
