Just as visual smut can be concocted by computers, so can stories, though a computer has probably not experienced any kind of insertion other than a usb plug; and wouldn't know a caress from a carbuncle. That said (written, typed), how likely is it that a computer is one of the correspondents in this forum? Could an enterprising nerd person program a device to make cogent or troll-like comments on a site such as this? Is Lit cooking up their own virtual correspondent to deal with snarky questions from us meat puppets?

Why would they? They've got us as their hivemind for answering questions from newcomers.

The answers might not always be useful, or correct, but at least they give the askers something to vent their frustration at.

No, I doubt they have any interest in a bot to answer questions. Aside from the point(s) above, the bot would only be programmed with the data from the FAQ. Anyone who uses a site for written erotica should be able to read, ergo, they should be able to read the FAQ for the answer to anything but truly novel questions or things that require careful adjudication, which a bot would be useless for. If they're too lazy to answer their own questions, there's little point in bending over backwards to coddle them; that's likely why they're now too lazy to read a FAQ.

So that was Question B--about Lit using a bot. Question A was speculation about one of us being a bot....

I'm certain of it. People kept replying to it despite my warnings. It has a generated AV. It posts cold, mechanical, distant and barely relevant comments. It doesn't respond when challenged.

I finally blocked it.

Well from my experience, the AI's are very cordial and agreeable, almost overly nice. We damn sure don't have anyone like that around here. ;)

Analepsis? Don’t talk to me about analepsis. Brain the size of a planet and they expect me to talk about analepsis, I ask you!
