Hi Garus,

Welcome to our community! I'm your friendly neighborhood submissive librarian and I just wanted to introduce you to our BDSM Library. It's loaded with threads on just about every topic, including one on Electroplay.

Looking forward to reading your posts and getting to know you.

My first suggestion would be to do an internet search and learn the correct name for the product while you're at it. Mislabeling a sex toy with the title "violent" is probably not a good thing.

There is a poster over at the topopolis thread named Rosco Rathbone who has a pretty violent wand. or should i say 'want'.

First, it troubles me a little that you don't know the correct name for this device. I hope you didn't allow someone who also didn't know the name to use it on you. Know your toys and know your players.

As Blondgirl said, you can do a web search to find out some information, but first hand knowledge is not always easy to find. You can find one to purchase, and you can probably find stories where one is used. But, such stories can be fiction, just for the impact factor.

The name comes from the color created by the gas inside the glass tubes. Does this help any? True, it does sound like the word violent, and yes, violent sensations can happen with one. You can even brand a person with one, with a steady hand and the correct metal tools. Fireplay is also more fun when a wand is used as the ignition device. Fake knifeplay can be simulated quite effectvely, too.

It is a very visual toy. The more you use one, the more you understand its potential. But, you should be sure you get a newer model. Older wands have wax cores and that can be a problem if you use the wand for long sessions.

Check the web sites for safety measures, as there are some. Anything that involves electricity should also involve safety. Mine has a footswitch. Now that I have the footswitch, I don't see how I could live without one. It's a hands free method of play when using the body attachment. And, with the body attachment, anything metal can be used as a toy.

Play safe and have fun. Also keep in mind they are pretty expensive and so are the attachments.
Oh...on the name? Just take out the N.

im sorry that i upset so many people by calling it a violent wand. BUT this is how the kit was introduced to me. as far as websites go there are a few that i have seen...

www.make-the-transition.com and of course www.huse.com

and yes, you are correct that the device itself is a violet wand. i did not think that it was such a big deal. i apologize again.

That's okay!

Since we dont' know you yet, soem of the advice given was given just to help out and be awrae of what you are using.

We get all kinds here and there are days where little things can be indicators of someone who is playing with us or here to give us a hard time. This is the "freak forum", ya know? :D

In any event, welcome aboard and have a good time. It isn't always such a challenge getting your point across.

As for me, I haven't used a violet wand yet, but am totally NOT opposed to it. Sounds yummy.

Don't worry about adding the N to the name. As I said, it can be violent at times, if you want it to be. Just turn up the dial. But, I have yet to see anyone who can take the full intensity with the small mushroom tube, or the rake. Those both fine tune the output to small areas and so it is more intense.

The larger glass globe is the weakest output. But, it is also the most visual. I like to use it in a darkened room, when you can see the miniture lightening bolts. It can be impressive.

Knife play with a DULL butter knife can be fun, if you are into that. I'm not, but if you use it correctly, the current is sent through the edge of the knife and it feels like you are actually being cut.

It is very important to use a dull edged knife. Actually, the duller, the better. Yes, it can leave a red mark, if the intensity is up very high. Use that dial sparingly. I have a friend who loves to get what she calls her red necklaces.

Because it actually creates a spark from whatever you are using as the probe to the subject, you can use it to ignite your fireplay fluids. Just be sure you know it will create a spark at any time it is on, so don't let it get around anything you don't want ignited. If it's flamable, keep it away, while you play.

My favorite attachment is the body contact plate. It is a link chain cable (mine is link chain, some are different) that is connected to a small metal plate. You put this metal plate somewhere on your person (I put it inside my belt, so it touches my skin) and any body part you touch your subject with is the electrode. You can use your fingers, your tougue, your cock, whatever. Of course, the latter two are a bit sensitive, because you feel the shock, just as the sub will.
And, the lightest touch will bring the best shock. If you actually touch the sub, you won't get much of a shock. In this case, a light touch is a nasty touch.

I love to run my fingers lightly over her body, going slower in the more sensitive areas for effect. And, there are other attachments for use with the body plate.

There is a mylar flogger that will conduct the current, and be a flogger, too. Yes, it can be a shocking sting, for sure.

There is a small chain that you can drag across the sub's body to produce many little shocks that feel different, depending on the intensity dial setting.

There are other attachments you can buy, but you can also make your own. Anything metal will work. A spoon or a fork, and there are gloves that have tacks embedded that are quite nasty. I need to get me a pair of those.

You can brand someone, with it set to high intensity, and a small ended metal tool, such as a dental pick. The small tip will intensify the output and you can actually burn an image into the skin. Take it easy with that kind of play.

Well, that is my short lesson on what to try. Just know what you are dealing with and use safety, and common sense. It is a form of electricity.

Below are some good links to how to play and play safe. Hope you have a shocking good time.
