Vintage 40 Prime THREE

Sorry for the late update.

They screwed up my pain meds. Instead of bumping them up a half they dropped them in half. By the time the nerve block wore off 25 hours later is when I realized that. My normal pain meds are light at 7.5 mg on the hydro part... The new meds were only 4 mg. I was so far behind the pain that just any tiny move made me nauseous. It took time to figure out that just taking double my normal meds was best. Most of today was trying to sleep cause I was only getting 2 hours in a row.

I was banned from Bayshore tomorrow but still need a small grocery run. My nurse friend is taking me and I'll save driving f or next week. I will try to keep ahead of the pain and muscle spasms.

Very luckily for me I have a high tolerance for pain but when I get it I get it bad. Due to the paranoia about people being addicted to pain killers I was not given anything other than Tylenol for the last two surgeries. After the first of those I was happy to have some Oxy left over from some earlier work and that helped me sleep enough to be ready to face the world after a day or two. The very last time was just a minor affair and luckily only "stung" a little. In my ideal world pain killers would be sold without prescription in every drug store. No one knows your wants and needs better than you. Not even your doctor. And sure as hell the FDA and other agencies have no idea of what is really going on.

That's a worry right now cause I have a high pain tolerance too. So I'm trying to back off the higher level of my normal meds by adding Alieve in for the break thru pain. And sleeping as much as I possibly can.

Where are the Yeti sightings???

Last Saturday I had to go out when it was particularly cold. It has been many years since I bundled up so much. I might have been miskten by a yeti since all that was showing was my beard and my beady eyes poking out from under the hood of my coat.

It's still winter here too.
it was down to around 51 last night here by the water.
I haven't had to turn on the heat cause it's been 71 inside.
Living here has been like a miracle compared to the old place.

starry, good to hear that the new place is working out so well.

Assume the surgery repaired what was necessary . . . stay ahead of the pain curve! . . . and don't push yourself too early!!! :)

I am hoping they got it fixed this time too. I see my otho on Tuesday to get stiches out.

There wasn't a Friday Flag Wave today. One of my wing-people is sick, the other not back yet & I didn't think I could drive over to South Tampa and do a solo yet. I tried a small grocery run alone yesterday & that didn't go so well. The smallest things wipe me out. Been spending a lot of time in bed trying to sleep. The doctors all decided to let me stay on the light pain meds even thou they are much lighter then standard post surgery levels.

recovery this time is kicking my butt bad:eek::eek:

After all of the crap you have put up with it is nice to know that you're starting to get a real break. "Keep on keepin' on!"

This is the last time I am taking her shopping.

She tried on this tight fitting bottom piece in black and she walks out of the fitting room then asks me how does it look and I tell her it looks a bit round near the middle, she gives me this blank stare.

How am I to know she had been watching Jenny Craig commercials?

One of these days she will kill you in your sleep for the insurance money.

That's what's made this whole new surgery mess so much easier. No mold, cold or dirt like the old place. The new meds gave me a really bad allergic reaction last night. I have never been so lightheaded or dizzy in my life. I was afraid to go to sleep. The new plan is back to my old meds but severely limited to 2 a day due to the ibuprofen in them.

not sure what happened but I got booted from the thread. Anybody know why?
It is good to know you are healing in a better place, Starry. At least your in a better environment.

How did you get booted from the thread??? You have a door key and security code for the alarm system. :eek:Spies??!? ;)

Today's been my best day yet. They finally got the meds back to what works and I'm not using up energy to fight the pain. I did house chores this morning then a long nap and just managed shower duty to wash the hair. I'm wiped out but not been able to do all of that plus making myself food all in one day since before surgery.

That is all good. :)

I've been traveling a lot. Minneapolis, MN. Sterling Heights, MI. Drummondville, QC. I do a week there then come home. Looks like I will be home for a few weeks. Bouncing between 70-80 degrees in Texas and freezing in those other places combined with airplanes and Hotel room has given me a persistent cough. Doc says it's allergies and gave me some Allegra. We'll see. Could be TB for all I know.

Wow that's a lot of traveling.
When you are on the road try to remember to grab a little package of honey they have at the breakfast bars. That will help boost your immune system plus coat your throat.

Thanks, that's a great idea

it's what I used to do.
If I was going to be a place more then a week I would get a little bottle of raw local honey.
Then if I had any allergies from pollen happening it helped with that as well.

Let's play take out North Korea.

China hardly has interest in them, Russia has no oil interest in them.

Lets just nuke them.
