Very cool shipwreck pics

This site is very cool, thank you Cloudy. Living close to the ocean, I have spent some time with the kids, walking the beach. The VA/NC beaches have several shipwrecks, still visible, wooden ships from long ago, washed up and slowly vanishing. It is such a stimulation to the imagination, to wonder about the circumstances that led to each spectacular wreck. I cannot help but also, say a little prayer for the sailors aboard at the time.

Haunting and beautiful, someone need to make sure voluptuary_manque sees this. He might do the oil painting.

I like the pictures of HMVS Cerberus although she wasn't a shipwreck but deliberately sunk as a breakwater. Cerberus

I was once a passenger on a ship that became a wreck. I sailed on the Royal Rotterdam Lloyd's Willem Ruys. Later sold that ship was renamed Achille Lauro, hijacked by terrorists, and much later sunk.

These are some very cool pictures.

I think the pictures of the wrecks in the shrinking Aral sea are amazing - ships just out in the middle of a desert, it looks like:

Believe it or not, this is a photograph, not a painting:

Enjoy. :)

Very cool. Wish you and I were hunters/pirates picking up the booty. What's your pirate name? Sassy Squaw? No - No - I know it's better than that! As a pirate I'd call you ... Veni-Miss!

YOu paint oils too? *thumpathumpa*

Yup, and build furniture, though my oils are more developed. Eventually I want to incorporate oil paintings into the furniture as the panels in frame and panel construction. I think it would make great chests, armoirs, cabinets, etc.

I always wanted to put music to my paintings.

Great pictures. I have always enjoyed pictures like this.

My absolute favorite picture though is the one of a Lighthouse being hit by a large wave, with a guy standing in the door on the backside of the lighthouse.
