Vegas meeting, baffled me.

Possible explaination...I'm not keeping up with name changes.

But why am I seeing people with 7 or 12 posts being gleefully on their way to Vegas? Yes, I know it's open to everyone, but I just don't get this. Unless I'm not keeping up with name changes, am I the only one that's befuddled (a Toddism!!) by a new person joining in the Vegas get together?

Could just be me...it usually is.

No, it isn't just you. Some of us have talked about it in PMs. I also found it very strange.

I think they are chat people, not bb people. From what I can figure out, they know some people who participate in both. That is better than my original guess which was that they were lurkers who decided to jump in and participate in a big way!

I think you'll notice there was never anything said about the party if it was open only to bb people or to chat, too. If it is called a "Lit" party, I can see why anyone would be allowed to come.

Honestly? Yes, it does a little. But I'm not planning to go so it is less of an issue for me.

Although, another way of looking at it is that other guests of bb members are going to be there, too. And you wouldn't know them, either. I'm not sure there is much difference between outside guests and chat people. They are Lit - related, just not people that you already "know."

Most people who "troll" BBs aren't brave enough to do anything in real life. There'll be lots of people in the city of Vegas that we all don't know - most of them, in fact - and the ones who aren't affiliated with the Lit gathering are probably a helluva lot scarier than the ones who are.

i would of loved to have gone too vegas to meet you all because it just sounds like such a fun and good idea but besides geography stopping me ... i wouldnt feel that i've been here long enough anyway ... maybe i'd goto the next one if you do one again i couldnt imagine why people would want to go though if they werent a big part of the board and knew everyone pretty well ... i imagine they will feel quite left out when they are there
