Can someone explain to me why vaping is such a huge emergency all the sudden? A handful of people in a country of 350 million die for some unknown reason, and the politicians are beside themselves and rushing to ban it. Aren't there more immediate dangers for those wishing to legislate what people can put into their own bodies?

Disclaimer: I'm not a vaper nor a smoker and not being about Trump, this topic will exclude the most prolific posters from the conversation. No offense meant.

Perhaps more tests would be better, but when young people who should live another 50 years begin to die of "unknown causes" but it is noticed that they all vape, isn't it proper to begin looking at regulation of what cannot possibly be a good habit?

it's an easy target because a fair number of vapers are kind of a pain in the ass about it. i just do it because it's better than cigarettes. i could really give a shit about the size of my cloud and i've always tried to politely blow my smoke away from other people regardless of its odor. others are not like me. they should fix that because i'm pretty great.

and i honestly think this whole thing might be about dipshits smoking janky weed vapes mixed by idiots. there's already been some evidence that points this way, but they're still looking into it. i suppose we'll see.

*shrugs*... It's none of the government's business what I do with my body. If your of the age of majority and want to kill yourself with drugs, cigarettes, vaping... that's your choice.

But really... the deaths and illnesses are so incredibly few, I don't understand what triggered the sudden concern. Hell, it took the government a decade to ban lawn darts.

Personally, I do not give a damn if people smoke and die, or vape and die, or shoot heroin and die, or snort cocaine and die, or freebase cocaine and die, or drink alcohol and die. I would legalize everything, but at the same time, I would task the FDA (and they could hire the DEA's suddenly excess workforce) to test and regulate quality, purity and safety of the drugs available in legal stores to customers with proper ID (unless they are an undocumented immigrant, African American, Hispanic American, or other non-white American for whom obtaining legal ID is too difficult).
