With Valentine's Day right around the corner which of you if looking forward to it and which of you is dreading it more and more with each passing day?

Personally I am not really in the mood for it this year, but that is just me. I'd appreciate it if you all would share your thoughts about it.....Thanks

ToddH:)

As I will be enduring Valentine's day on my own again this year, so I guess I aint in the mood for it.

-Shameless sympathy plug- :p

Awww...... ;)

I'm not really concerned about it. I could get some chocolate, which would be fantastic. :D

I used to hate it when I was single, but my mom always came through with the chocolate...bless her heart!

Don't have any money, and he doesn't either. So, I'm not expecting anything grand.

The only good thing about Valentine's Day is that the Gatorade Twin 125's are that day at Daytona and they will be on the local radio station here. My class will be having a Valentines party to the roar of the engines and then I will come home and watch them. I will be wearing blue and yellow in support of my favorite driver.

As a good valentines day film, I would recommand 'Kate and Leopold' its a funny yet touching film. Enough in it for both of you and romantic enough for the occasion.

I don't really like Valentine's Day. It's just another day that reminds me, all these people are going home, and, probably gonna have a good time later, and, I get nothing. But, a sore hand, that is.

It isn't a favorite holiday. This year I will try to feel more neutral about it rather than letting it bother me.

I'm glad to hear you're going to try and not let it get you down this year!!

V-Day 2002

This Valentine's Day will be most special for me since my darling will be visiting me for the first time in NYC! I'm sure we'll be doing something "special" on the 14th. so it is definitely a day I'm looking forward to this year.

As with Christmas, Valentines Day will be celebrated by my son only.

The box will be decorated, not sure what his theme will be though. The cards written, no mushy ones yet (or a least I'm hoping not).

Then the fun part, reading the ones he brings home. ;)

And not letting on I find the ones hidden in his pants when I do the laundry. :D

I can't say its something I am looking forward to but there is no way to avoid it either so, it will be a day for my son and I. Maybe dinner and a movie.

Special friends from here also help in lifting spirits that get heavy at times and can drag you down.

Well, I don't really look forward to it, nor do I dread it. I've always been that way, whether I had an SO or not. I've always felt rather ambiguous about VDay. Of course, I still hold firm to the fact that I love those little paper valentines and the candy hearts with words on them! They're cute!! I'm not really a huge chocolate fan (unless it's wrapped around Reese's Peanut Butter or coating a strawberry!), roses are about my least favorite flower, and I don't like diamonds at all! So...there goes all the traditional VDay stuff, lol!

I do think it is a holiday that's overused to make up for things. I'd rather make sure I let that special someone know how much I care for them every day, rather than go overboard on the day I also affectionately refer to as Hallmark Day... :D I like spontaneous, "just because" romance, not date-dictated romance.

Valentine's Day was just another stupid, irrelevent holiday to me until 14 years ago on this coming Feb. 14. On that day (coincidentally enough), events were set in motion that would save me from my depressing, shitty existence and start me on the road to a wonderful, new, HAPPY (impossible-seeming to my old self, but it did happen) life. So Valentine's Day has extremely special significance to me, and I now celebrate it every year by remembering back to the events of that fateful day.

Well I did recieve an early Valentine's gift of roses and a beautiful piece of jewelry from someone special. But will be spending Valentines alone this year.
*something really wrong with this picture:( *

I can't honestly say that I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not dreading it either. It's just another day around here.....

It'll be me and my son again this yr

I don't really care for the holiday given I'm still single maybe my opinion will change when I meet that special some1.....

Well, back when I ws single Vallentines day only hit me on the actual day. I didnt concern myself about it before then.
Granted on the actual day or more likely night last year, we were a few that rubbed each others backs right here, and made an anti V-day Cult. (Remember that Angel??)

This year though. I'll be looking very much forward to it.

Well, since I have just ended a 3 year relationship today I am definitely not looking forward to Valentine's Day. Maybe I can sleep through it....

I'm asking the man of my dreams out, not for V-day but for a date (anytime!) So hopefully he'll say yes and I won't be completely only for the V-day season. *crossing fingers*

Either was Valentine's Day will work out. Feb. 14th is a Thursday and I have karate class then (so I'll get to beat the shit out of something) and then if I'm dateless, I'll have a double reason to hang out with Ben & Jerry! :D

Valentines day?

Commercial crap is my opinion.

Who needs a special day in the year to show your love for someone special - don't you always do that?

I expect to be alone this year, but that doesn't stop me from planning things to make my Beloved feel special & appreciated.:( :rose:

Hmmmmmmmmm Valentine's Day

I have always hated Valentine's Day in the past because it never fails that I am usually not in a relationship when it comes. Ok I was one year but he was also in a ship in the middle of the Atlantic!!! I do have a love this year but he will not be here either I met him here in lit.

I know I will be sending a ton of online Valentines to my friends from lit and a few special others. As for what to do? Not a clue

You know when Valentine's Day is cool? When you're a kid...because to kids, Valentine's Day is the day everyone brings little cards with candies to school...those fun little Valentine's Day cards with Snoopy or goofy cartoon hearts or whoever on them. You go home from school with a little bag full of cards, chocolate hearts in foil, those chalky message heart candies, red hots... Sometimes little boys would sneak crush messages to the girls, or vice versa.

That's how it should be for grown-ups. Everyone comes to work with cards & candies for the whole place. Right before lunch, cards are distributed, and everyone goes home with a fun little bag of goodies, maybe even a date or two. If the world ran like that, everyone would love Valentine's Day.

I vote for Laurel to be ruler of the world, or at least in charge of holidays! :D
