I need some ideas for a Valentine's Day evening for me and my partners (1m/1f). We pretty much have the dinner worked out, just a bit stuck on dessert and other ideas for the night.Have planned to have a slide show with romantic type pics and music. It's a bit of a surprise for my f partner and have already organised to have her out of the house so that we can set up.Any help would be great and it needs to be as low-cost as possible.

You can't go past chocolate mousse for dessert, you can make it earlier in the day and have it waiting in the fridge. The other option is fresh fruit - nectarines, peaches, strawberries, melon - sweet and juicy!
Maybe set up a rug in the backyard and have a picnic, a nice bottle of champagne or her favourite wine - you should be set!
Have fun!

I've seen a couple on Take Home Chef recently. there was a chocolate mouse layerd with creme brulee and berries, and this strawberry granita with flambeed strawberries both looked SO good! you can find them on his site. just do a search for take home chef. A cheesecake-something might also be good. Also, you might try allrecipes.com or the food network is having an all chocolate week.

Thanks guys.We have been given a couple of extra days planning as we have decided on Friday night for the actual dinner and evenings activities.Just got to decided between chocolate mousse or fresh fruit (maybe both) ;-) and fun is definately on the agenda.
