I know that we've had other threads for those without Valentines, but I thought a support thread would be nice for us lonely, single people out there. I hate Valentine's Day and am anxious for it to be over cuz the whole thing reminds me that I'm single still.
Anyone else dreading tomorrow? Any special in denial of romance plans out there? :)

Dread the day :p hate it!

Never thought of making anti-v-day plans...
really like the idea, open to suggestions!

Count me amongst the Valentine's Day haters. Fortunately I don't have a major crush on anyone this year, so it'll be easier. *hugs* for everyone that needs them this Valentines.

Well, if I liked horror movies, a slasher fest woud be cool, but I'm a chicken.

I'm spending the day getting my passport. I get to spend hours in a government office waiting to be served.

Can't get much less romantic than that.

There is a part of me that feels so sad that you felt compelled to post this. However there is another part of me that wants you to submit on the balcony.(Very Hot Story).

I have two crushes. Both of them have someone. That's why I started my moping topic .

I have always made a point on Valentine's Day to give love and flowers to all the people I love, not just the wife. As far as I am concerned, VD is a day for sharing love with everyone who's special, not just a day for couples.

So whether you like it or not, you get Auntie love and :rose: es today. Just because you're you.

Well, that does make my day better. I can always use Auntie love. And even tho I hate VDay, I'm tickled that you and Min get to be together to enjoy yours. You two give me hope that I won't always be single. And you two (and Lucky and Vella) are the reason I'd rather be single than settling. Much love to you both.

I prefer not to even say the V word. Personally, I hate getting V-day cards from people (family) because it just serves to remind me that I have no one special in my life who would care enough to be here. *excruciating mental pain* :rose: Time to go distract myself.

Well, we're almost done with the day- thank god! Kids came home with bags of goodies and my littlest keeps giving me kisses as my Valentines. I suppose it could be worse. As long as I don't think about what's missing in my life, I'm fine.

Kids make my V-day a lot more bearable. I taught my class that it was about telling everyone special in you life that you loved them. Then we made biscuits and had a party. That was fun, my littlies are so cute when it comes to sharing love!

Wish I had someone a little bigger to love though...

And :kiss:s right back at ya. If I've got to be single, at least I'm in good company. :) How've you been?

Actually, I'm better, believe it or not. I owe it all to Wellbutrin. :D I feel sooooo much better.

And I've lost weight, too. :nana: Just one of the better side effects.

How about you, SJ? Doing better?

I posted this on Theegoatpig's VD moping thread...

I lived for 9 years as a single person within a long established marriage, until we separated and then divorced amicably and in all that time, even the 22 years before that, Valentine's Day never bothered me. In fact, I have always viewed the day not as one to tell one specific person how much you love them, but as one where I remind all the people in my life who are important to me, just how much I love them.

The secret is not to dwell on the romantic aspect of VD, but to revel in the chance to tell many people that you love them, hand out single roses, tiny boxes of individual chocolates if you wish, miniature drink bottles...to many loved ones. The look of surprise and pleasure on their faces, makes it all worth while.

Make it a day of celebrating what you do have, not what you don't.
