Vaginal moisturizers as opposed to lubricants

I'm in the process of beginning menopause, and right now, along with irregular periods that come out of the blue, I've noticed a problem with vaginal moisture. Not moisture during sex, that seems to be always there!, but just on a regular basis.

I had the same problem when bf'ing, but that was before the products like Replens were on the market. Lubricants helped, but pretty short term.

I tried one of the new vaginal moisturizers (Replens), but am not very satisfied. It seems to be either a waterfall or desert, rather than the "steady" moisture for days that they advertise. I've seen other products on the market, but am not really ready to keep spending money on them without more information or personal knowledge from someone that they might work better.

Has anyone had this problem and found something that worked that doesn't include hormones?

If you'd rather not post, you could email or PM with the answer, too.

I am breast feeding and do not know of any vaginal moisture problem. I did not know this was even a problem with breast feeding. I learn something new everyday.
