Ok, so I was encouraged to check out this thread. Emmy's ice pix simply blow my mind. I really don't understand them. How does something like that happen? Rain + Freezing wind? I don't know. I live in Southern California, so I don't know about such things. Call me spoiled, but I'm wearing a tshirt today!

Here's a pic from a recent trip to Lake Tahoe, which borders California/Nevada. It is somewhere between 6-7K feet and, in winter, is a popular ski/snowboard area.

how about the lake affect wind of over 100kmp and temps of below zero...the tree was right off the beach of Lake Geneva!!!
