ooohhh...let me tell you........I bet you would have sold this for at 50 bucks a bowl..........I've never tasted better....my friend gave away three double helpings before I arrived......I ate two......and came home with enough for three more!!!!! He said the ginger was the what set it off!! If it wasn't an early lunch and I was driving a bottle of vino would have been the show stopper!!!!

now that it's quiet I said I would give recipe. Cajun Jambalaya


M. made a rue while I went to store.

olive oil, butter, garlic, fresh parsley, basil, celery, ground black pepper, whole cloves, vinegar, and lemon juice.

now the stock(my job)

500ml of white wine, one catfish fillet chopped small, one pound of shrimp, one package of crab claw meat, two Alaskan King Crab legs chopped(shell on), 1/4 pound mild sausage, fresh green and red bell pepper(gross chop), six baby videlia onions(gross chop), 2 bay leaves, 2 cans diced tomatoes, one can of fiesta corn, 2 packages of trinity(some call it holy trinity:chopped onions, celery, and green peppers), bottle of videlia peach salsa, one package of long grain rice. Secret ingredient was finely sliced fresh ginger(suggested by chef em).
If you like it hotter, add cayenne pepper. It was warm enough!!!!!
Another version leaves out rice and tomatoes and adds potatoes; also very good!!!

stir after each item added in 10 quart crock pot on high til just before boil, set to low for six hours. Made 16 bowls............


Strangely enough, the whole time we were making the Jambalaya, the college station was playing New Orleans Jazz.....very appropo


M. gave some to four of his real good friends, they were very, very pleased.......he told them if they wanted it again to bring the ingredients next time.........
