USS Dark Fire (IC)

“He’s a rather fascinating individual. Most human males get rather upset at the sexual questions, whereas it’s the subject of his wife that upset him. I apologize for it taking so long to get him to vacate. That was your intent, yes?” L’Sa replied.

“What was that all about, anyways?” Jordan asked Xiana as they moved towards the kitchen.

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

“He’s certainly very open.” She’d hope the way of getting him to leave hadn’t been so… unsettling, but she hoped he’d be aright. “He’s been…” she trailed off. Right, there was patient confidentiality. “Let’s just say he has some touchy subjects to maneuver. He came saying he needed a last minute chat, I explained I had dinner plans, he insisted on helping. I just couldn’t get him to take the hint. I feel conflicted about it now, but what’s done is done.”

“Please, do have a seat,” she urged, motioning to her dining table where an array of food was waiting for then, minus the primary dish. “All vegetarian, naturally. I wanted to make something homely.”

Stardate 29870606.2055

“Thank you, Xiana.” Jordan said as he and L’Sa sat down.

“I will apologize when I speak to him again. It was not my intention to make things greatly uncomfortable. Just enough for him to leave.” L’Sa said to Xiana. “Unless you believe that would aggravate the situation even more?”

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

“I think it’s best to let him come to you, or us, or as he needs,” Xiana answered, beginning to serve each of the sides available. They were still at a good temperature, thankfully. While serving each portion on the plates, she explained each of the items. Nopales, rice, beans, chiles rellenos with an egg substitute. It smelled like her home’s kitchen when she was a child. She hoped they’d enjoy a cuisine she held so close, hopefully up to dessert. She knew the replicator could pull the dishes off, but she had tried it enough to still miss the flavor of experience.

“If anything is too spicy or overwhelming, let me know,” she said. It wasn’t for everyone, and that was alright. Serving them both a glass of water and a unique beverage, she finally joined them. “Did you have a good rest of your evenings? What did you do?”

Stardate 29870606.2100

“This is quite good,” Jordan commented as he ate, Cautious at first of the warning about spicy. But after a few bites he realized with Vulcan cuisine he’d built a tolerance for spicy.

Recognizing most of the food from her previous experiments with human cuisine L’Sa only tasted the Rellenos before she started eating everything. “Very acceptable,” she said which was a very good compliment, for a Vulcan.

“After shifts we showered, meditated, and applied neuro-pressure to each other. It’s very relaxing. And L’Sa informed me that Dr. Grissom has been given approval to start hormonal re-sequencing so that L’Sa can get pregnant.” Jordan said as he touched his wife’s hand.

“Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I didn’t think it was possible for us to have children. It’s very rare for Human and Vulcan couples to have children. Not that Human and Vulcan couples are common.”

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

Xiana beamed at the news and the relief they could openly talked about it. “They said yes?! Congratulations! How is the treatment going?”

While she awaited and listened to answers, although she kept an excited expression on her face, the reality of the situation began to simmer in her stomach, her previous fears regurgitating. She truly wanted them to be able to happily raise their child, but it was their child. As a couple. It was something she was willingly stepping into that made her more nervous and conflicted than she liked to think about.

“Well, you will be marvelous parents,” Xiana said sincerely.

Stardate 29870606.2105

“I will begin receiving treatments tomorrow, and if everything goes as Dr.s Grissom and Sidle anticipate within a week it should be possible for me to conceive. Although there are always biological variables that are unaccounted for.”

“We, not us,” Jordan commented. “Unless you’ve changed your mind. This child will, if you’re willing have tow human parents and one Vulcan. Two mothers, one father. But we will of course take things slowly. But we have no intention of excluding you from this.”

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

Was it the spice, or what was causing a drop of sweat to hurry down the back of her neck. Slowly felt more like a theory, particularly after stepping into a solid relationship that was so near to a new phase.

She took a profound breath. “I don’t think I can do this,” she let out before she could change her mind.

“It’s not, you know, for a lack of affection, but it’s just too much for me. I’ve barely gotten into a rhythm with my job, I hadn’t considered a relationship with someone here, let alone two people, and adding a child to the mix. I wouldn’t want either of you to hold back for my sake, but I can’t increase my pace for yours either. I mean, I didn’t have a plan to have a child anytime soon. I don’t even know if it’s in my future. I can’t play catch up for everything you two have gone through together.”

Her voice broke. “This isn’t going to work. I’m sorry.”

Stardate 29870606.2110

“If it’s to fast for you, then we can step back and you can move at your pace that you need.” L’Sa replied. “If you don’t wish to be part of the child’s immediate family, if and when we do have one, that’s fine.”

“Any relationship comes with stress and uncertainty, this one would be expected to have the same, if not more, uncertainty. And you don’t need to catch up to what we’ve gone through. Everyone experiences life at their own pace.”

“But we must each make choices for our own well being, and if you don’t wish to be apart of us, we will accept that decision.”

“Xiana, I’m not trying to overwhelm you. Each day is a day. Take one day at a time.” Jordan said. “And live that day.”

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

“Except you shouldn’t have to take a step back. That’s not fair to you. You’re ready for a child, you’re a decade into your marriage. I know you’re willing to try to fit me in but that’s the point. We can’t find a middle ground if we’re on two different planets already.” Given her emotional state, she truly hoped she wouldn’t have to explain the metaphor.

“Yes, every relationship comes with uncertainty, but this isn’t something entirely new. This is me disappearing into two people’s lives, getting concerned over things I’m not ready to be concerned about. This just began and I’m already drowning in hypotheticals.”

She paused to catch some air. “I take day by day on my own because I’m the only person I have to account for. I just don’t think I was built for this dynamic. Despite your efforts, I don’t think I’ll able be able to stop feeling like the odd one out, in family dynamics no less. It doesn’t mean I’m not interested and I don’t adore you both, but I don’t want this set up. I won’t be happy in it. I think you both deserve someone who would flourish in this kind of arrangement, in this specific point in your lives, but that isn’t me.”

Stardate 29870606.2115

“I understand, Xiana. Really I do.” Jordan said, softly. “And because this is something you need I accept it. But I know I’ll be here if you ever want, or need, to talk about it. Whatever happens I’m here.”

“You would not be disappearing into two lives,” L’Sa said looking at Xiana. “Two lives would be expanding. You’d not be ‘the odd one out’. But you should be happy, and if you won’t be, then you won’t be.”

“Though I do believe you would benefit from us as part of your support group. Whether that is mental, emotional, or even by us just being here and listening to you at a moments notice. Helping you to de-stress from the day.”

“As Jordan said, I will accept your decision. And if this is something you don’t want, then you don’t want it.”

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

It was a heavier thing to consider than she expected. Her food was growing cold, but she didn’t have much of an appetite for it anyway. Her chest rose.

“I want to reiterate that my affections are unaffected, but I will never be the kind of person who can do well in this dynamic. I’ll still be here for you however you need me, I don’t want that to change, which is precisely why I can’t pretend otherwise. I respect you too much to lose you in the future with dissatisfaction I can opt out of now. Would that be okay?”

“But I appreciate your welcome of me,” Xiana stressed. “I cherish the two of you so much. Despite that, this arrangement… it isn’t for me.”

Stepping onto the Bridge Reeves assumed his station as the Deck Officer updated him on the planet they were approaching.

Transferring the data to the hologrid at his station he looked over the information.

Yaran, the second planet was technically Minshara Class. Survivable by humanoids. 9.8 billion life forms. Several hundred different races. And a very small space station. A research point? Communications relay?

There were also several colonies on several other planets and asteroids and moons. But they numbered between a couple hundred and a few thousand per outpost. Possibly mining or agricultural outposts.

And three ships in orbit.

Hora

Hora had settled on a holodeck simulation where she watched two beautiful women goes at it. They had invited her to join in, but staying with her sexual persona she had told them no. It had turned out to be a fun fantasy, but afterwards she needed something more.

She asked the blonde girl, who looked very similar to Ensign Cook to stay, while the other woman that looked like Loka departed.

That is when Hora could indulge in one of her favorite sex acts. She loved to trib or scissor another woman. Particular when they were still virgin to that act. She enjoyed the slightly-confused look they got when she pushed their legs back and mount them. The way their pussies gush as they frantically hump themselves against her clit in pursuit of their orgasm. She just loved it.

As the blonde was still catching her breathe, Hora got on her.

“I think I’ll join now” She said in a dominate and controlling way.

Her green pussy rubbing and smashing into the blonde’s pussy. Clit to clit. Orion technically, had a ridge of pleasure, not a clit, but once swollen their “clit”, which was slightly larger than most human women acted like a clit. And Hora used her engorged pussy lips and ridge to dominate and crush the blonde’s cute little button.

Hora was good at it, and the simulation was designed to reward her technique. After only 5 minutes of tribbing, she could quite literally feel the blonde girl’s orgasm coming. She could feel the girl start to slip into the abyss of pure pleasure. Orgasm caused by clit to clit rubbing were like paradise.

"There you go, sweetie," Hora said, her eyes locked onto the blonde’s. "Give me that little clit. It's mine, I'm taking it."

The blonde's eyes were squeezed close. Hora shifted her hip slightly so that the clits were no longer next to each other, sliding in the valleys created by their pussy lips.

"You like how I crush your little clit?"

“MMMMM” is all the blonde could say. Hora banged and humped and ground her pussy against the blonde’s. The blonde’s sweet young pussy was drooling for Hora, the lips spread open as the force of Hora’s hips helped her use her pussy to bully the blonde’s into submission.

It was the last straw. The simulation groan and her entire body tense as tears appeared in the corners of her eyes. Her knees buckled slightly as she came hard.

"Thatta girl," Hora growled and abandoned her control as she came against that hard little clit too.

They lay together in post-orgasm panting as the blonde’s pussy dripped off the bottom of her ass cheeks and onto the Hora’ bed.

Hora slept well but woke up early. She cleaned up, generated a cup of Klingon coffee and headed to the bridge. Even though it was 0500 in the morning she found Reeves at his station, working. The man was amazing.

“Good morning” she said to him as she approached the 3D display of the long-range scans. “What are you thinking? Visit the main planet or an outpost?” She asked,.

“I believe the Main Planet, Yaran, would contain what we seek, Captain.” Reeves replied straightening up and saluting her. “It’s doubtful that any of the colonies or satellite locations would have what we need.”

“Very few of them have more than 1000 citizens except the Planet. However on the Planet we should be able to procure information, star charts, and organizational information on the residents of this Galaxy.”

“The question is what do they use for currency, if any.” He added while watching the Captain’s face. Staying neutral he thought about his directive to inform him the next time the Captain was having sex. If she hadn’t been occupied at that time of night he might have pulled an emergency drill, but considering their arrival in system such a move would have been extremely disruptive. “Also, there would be the complication of traffic between us and the colonies. Most of them have magnetic shielding which would disrupt transporters.”

“Dark Fire, please inform the Counselor her presence is requested, not required on the bridge.” Hopefully she was willing to be in the same room as him after last night. But her potential insight into any aliens they encountered could be beneficial.

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

Any rest Xiana had had the night prior was only in her occasional blinks through the night. In a way, she was thankful the ship seldom offered outside light. Had there been something akin to the sun to announce that she had gone an entire night without sleep and was expected to operate the following day as if she didn’t feel sick of herself, her misery would’ve elevated one more degree.

Still, her mental reruns would be in the backburner. She had never been the type of person to neglect her work due to her personal life, much less when others’ wellbeing was at stake. It wasn’t easy to appear at the bridge upon request, her eye circles rivaling the pitch black of the ship’s outer environment, but at least she liked her attire of choice.

“Captain, Commander, how can I be of assistance?” she asked, her tone and posture as professional as always.

Hora
“Counselor, we’ve just identified 9.8 billion life forms awaiting analysis,” Captain Hora announced, her voice laced with mischief. “Several hundred races in the mix. Your presence on the bridge is officially requested—because frankly, I need a distraction from getting myself into trouble.” She cut the transmission with a smirk. “Captain out.”

She turned to Commander Reeves, leaning against the console like she owned the stars.

“Here’s what’s troubling me,” she said. “We roll in with this massive, fire-breathing warship, and they’re gonna think we’re here to conquer. So—we stay cloaked. Send a small group of us in a long-range shuttle instead. Keep things subtle. Not exactly my style…” Her grin turned sly. “But I’m trying new things lately. In diplomacy and in the bedroom.”

"So what do you think?" She asked him. Reeves raised a brow. Hora held up a hand. “I meant the shuttle idea. Not the bedroom.”

Stardate 29870607.0510

“A long range shuttle is a logical choice. They’d be unable to determine our distance, or position, from the planet. We could remain under cloak. And observe from orbit.”

“As for your bedroom habit’s, I have no opinion on them as I have already stated my lack of interest in you or your activities.”

“Lt. Shino has been, progressing well. If he can manage this encounter with problems. Shall I consider him for promotion to Air Group Commander?”

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

Xiana cleared her throat, taking a couple of steps in the others’ directions. “If I may,” she began, not giving much of a chance otherwise. “Taking into consideration the last mission, I’d like to endorse more simulations for any crew members you are eyeing to send abroad. I think after the… lack of synch of the last time we touched ground, we should assure there’s both comraderie and intellectual trust, particularly with any blurred lines of power dynamics or the like.”

“I understand urges to get knowledge on these new species or that some degree of time might still make exploring look far away, but avoiding any degree of personal conflict leads to better results,” she noted.

“With that aside, I’m not quite sure what I’m needed for,” Xiana admitted. “I am happy to help however I can, but I’m not a sociologist.”

Hora
“Oh, there you are, Dr. Marlowe!” Hora called out, clearly surprised as the counselor stepped onto the bridge. “I absolutely endorse your idea of the away team getting more… intimate. On an Orion ship, we’d have already explored one another in exquisite detail.”

She flicked a glance toward Commander Reeves and continued. “Of course, as you and the good Commander pointed out, Starfleet protocols frown on that kind of bonding. So, simulations it is. Dark Fire can prep a stressing encounter. We’ve only got time for one run-through—but afterward, we’ll be working together as smoothly as the inside of my thigh.”

She paused, slowly reaching for her leg—then stopped just short, throwing Marlowe a wink. “Almost fooled you, didn’t I?”

The teasing faded, replaced with a serious expression as she turned back to Reeves. “Agreed. If he performs well, Lt. Shino McLeo deserves more responsibility. As for the rest of the team: you, me, McLeo, Dr. L’Sa, and Dr. Marlowe.”

She gave Marlowe a nod—not quite apologetic, but direct. “Sorry, Doctor. You might’ve hoped for an exemption, but you’ll be useful.”

She glanced at Reeves again, eyebrows raised. “Did I forget anyone?”

Stardate 29870607.0515

“Captain, Starfleet Regulations prohibit Both Captain and First Officer from being on the same away team. This was written as a result of several incidents where both Captain and First Officer were injured and or compromised by such actions.”

“I would recommend taking M.A.C.O. or Security on the away team, as a precaution, Captain.” Reeves replied straightening up.

“And Counselor your advice is always appreciated when encountering a new species as you may have a psychological insight that neither of us would have. This will also give you time off the ship and in a natural gravity.”

“And I would suggest NOT taking Lt. Sol with you, this time. His aggressive nature could prove detrimental at this time.”

“However, Gunnery Sergeant McPherson has full training with all weapons and isa Medical Officer in case one is needed. There is also Ensign Yito, she’s completed her weapons qualifications and her Emergency Medical Technician Training as well as being a natural polyglot, she has a working knowledge of at least a dozen languages and could be helpful if there is any complications with tricorders or communications with the Dark Fire.”

“Planetary Gravity is 1.01 of Ship standard, so movement will be slower, excepting for heavy worlders. The Oxygen is 1.13 of ship standard, so this will result in Oxygen Toxicity, so breathing units will be required. Extended exposure to the higher levels of oxygen will be damaging to the central nervous system and pulmonary system. There are protocols for such an event but using the breathing units for five minutes after five minutes of exposure will negate the need. If anyone experiences lightheadedness use the breathing unit for ten minutes instead of five. Failure to follow protocols can result in death.”

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

“I didn’t imply that I wanted an exemption,” she replied, “I’m happy to assist nonetheless. I’d appreciate some time with Ensign Yito and Sergeant McPherson to formally strategize for any given emergencies or events. I did feel very underprepared this last time, personally.”

Quietly, she wondered if L’Sa joining them was a good idea, solely out of safety. She was sure the woman could handle herself, but despite Xiana breaking off any established engagements she couldn’t help but fear for her wellbeing. For both of them. Her sentiments hadn’t gone away, particularly in a mission with uncertainty.

The counselor shook her head at the mention of Lt. Sol. “Commander, I understand past experiences making you wary of the Lieutenant, but using reasoning such as ‘aggressive nature’ is both stereotypical and will only make him less likely to want to progress in his behavior. I understand you don’t want any conflict on this mission, but I believe you should give him a chance to prove himself, precisely in a simulation as the one I mentioned.”

She wasn’t too preocupied with oxygen adaptations, runner lungs and all. Xiana did make a mental note to add more exercise regiments for gravity changes. She could definitely do with more upper body strength.

Stardate 29870607.0520

“I apologize for that, Counselor. It wasn’t intended. Our sensors didn’t detect the Delvian lifeform so it was calculated to be a planetary excursion for you.”

“I also apologize if I’ve given you the impression, I'm discriminatory towards any species of life, I’m not. My statement of his aggressive nature is singularly directed at his behavior as I’ve never encountered another of his species and can make no broad statements about their racial behaviors. My personal observations of Lieutenant Sol, as well as lengthy reports, are my reasons for excluding him from my recommendations.”

“If however, he performs exceedingly well in the simulation, I may alter my recommendation.”

Turning to Captain Hora he took a deep breath. “At several points I recommended to Captain Marcus that we make small changes to the gravity of the ship until it’s at 1.3 Terran Gravity. This would increase the crew musculature and stamina. As well as making it less difficult when dealing with heavier gravity planets such as this one. I make that recommendation again.”

◅ XIANA MARLOWE ▻

She moved her hand dismissibly to the past experience. As much as she’d like every mission to go perfectly, she had to accept challenges.

“No, dar-“ Xiana cleared her throat. “No, Commander, I didn’t mean that sentiment. I do want his efforts, despite taking some time, to be taken into question. I don’t blame your hesitance. I’ve had it myself as well. He is, however, demonstrating change, and I wouldn’t be doing my job if I let that go by unnoticed. If anything, his willingness to change, regardless of the speed of his progress, should be rewarded with more trust if he can prove his development.”

“I can’t argue with that approach,” Xiana nodded. She hoped she wasn’t rooting for him in vain.

“I do have a plethora of work to get back to, so if you need me, you know where to find me. I’ll be doing some overtime for a few evenings as well,” Xiana concluded, giving the two a respectful nod before returning to her office. She had mixed feelings about the upcoming quest, yet all she could hope for was patience.

Hora
Hora put her hands on her hips, her tone measured but unmistakably firm. “Alright, everyone. I didn’t recommend Lieutenant Sol for this away mission—not because he's too aggressive, but because he’s reptilian. And so are the Scarran. The Scarran have a reputation for being one of the more warlike species in this sector. As the old saying goes—don’t send a Klingon to broker peace.”

She shifted her gaze to Commander Reeves. “Now, as for you. Yes, I know the rules, but I believe some missions demand exceptions. This could be the most pivotal away mission the Federation’s ever undertaken. I need you there. You can push back, but i think it is worth the risk”

Her voice lowered some as she continued. “No MACOs. No security detail. And definitely not Gunnery Sergeant McPherson—not after his last stunt. You can include Ensign Yito. I’d like to observe her in action… and get to know her better.”

Hora seemed to relax as she wrapped up for statements “Lastly, let’s talk gravity modifications. It’s not just numbers—changing the ship’s G levels impacts everything: plant growth, meal prep, bone density, and more. I want a full analysis. Every pro, every con, before we make a move. For starters, let’s try a modest adjustment—say, ten percent. Ease it in.”
