User name edit?

OK, I've looked around and maybe I'm getting tired but I'm not finding it in the cp a thread search, and I couldn't it in the FAQ.

Can anyone tell me how I can edit my user name? Typo lol and it is infinitely important that it be fixed asap.

At this point, with so few posts and such a recent join date, your best bet is to simply re-register with the correctly spelled name. However, "sweet_pea" is almost certainly already taken, so be prepared to have some backups, or at least add a number to it.

The only people who can change it are the admins (of which there are only two for the entire site, to my knowledge). The problem with that is they're extremely busy people. It's not really fair to ask them to change it when you have so few posts and just joined this month. Most of the people who join don't actually stick around; if just a fraction of those people requested name changes or account edits, the admins would spend an inordinate amount of time on that one task alone.

In certain cases, they will change usernames, but I've only seen that done for members who have like over 1000 posts and/or an old join date. Would they do it for me? Probably, because I've put in my dues here and proven I can stick around long-term. Should you bother them with something you can take care of yourself within a few minutes now that you know the situation? Probably not.

I had a quick look through the members list, it doesn't look like like Sweet_Pea has been used yet, if you move quickly you might be able to snap it up.

If it's any consolation I never noticed until this thread, I knew what name you meant so never bothered to actually read what was there.

If you want to get your post count up quickly, jump into some of the game threads in the Playground and you'll have an AV in no time.

LoL - Yeah that's why it sucked. I was half way to being approved for an avatar. Actually, I'm just glad I was so anal about my story now. It would have sucked to submit it and then have to make another profile. This way I get to keep it under this name!
