Actually, it's damn it either way.

Damn is used as a verb to either mean "block the movement of water" or "curse someone."

Then it's dammit due to a recent court ruling designed to minimize destruction of the rainforest in third world countries by reducing the wasting of paper by eliminating any unnecessary spaces between words.
 
"Damn" is the verb formed from the noun "damnation." I damn; you damn; he, she or it damns; we damn, you damn, they damn.
