USA, the 21's Century Germany

Dumb thread
Yes, another lamb to slaughter chimes in.

Look at the similarities. Jews=Illegal immigrants, Breaking the international order, Non agression act= Russia in the G7, Tariffs=Hossbach Memorandum. Ukraine=Poland

You may not like or agree, but the similarities between what happened then, and what is happening now are startling.

'Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it'

You give the orange fuckwitt too much credit. At least Hitler, fucked up as he was, had an organized thought out plan and the ability to lie effectively.

While I most certainly do see red flags galore, I am uncertain that I would call it a direct repetition of the Nazi Germany.

But, Trump & Friends are most definitely:
  • Ultra nationalists and bordering imperial presidency in the government style.
  • Demagoguery to the core.
  • Violence ready. (Ahem... Ethic Cleansing)
  • Not acknowledging that: The Constitution of the United States divides the federal government into three branches: legislative, executive, and judicial.
  • Ruling by Decree.
  • Annexing other sovereign countries.
  • A true personal hurt and offended approach to politics. Feeling scorned and not reverenced enough by the world.
  • Needing to be the biggest and best country in the world, no matter the consequences.
  • Behaving erratic, bombastic and "knowing better" all of the times.
  • Prosecuting people who disagree with him or have worked against him.

... I mean, Trump does not need to be compared to Hitler, no.. he is doing fine enough on his own. 😉

I have no problem saying out loud I wish there were similarities between Mussolini's fate and the orange one.

That is a bit extreme. But I do understand your line of thought.
- Over here, your vice president's speech in Munich has left us all speechless, in the worst way possible.

It seems that Trump is more than well prepared this time around, not making the same mistake as last time he was president (hiring the best people for the positions), this time he has surrounded himself with ultra loyal people.. All with glib tongues and populists.

... It is making the world a significantly more dangerous place.

I spent years apathetic to American politics. I admit I was entirely too comfortable. My grandfather told me once that id care once government affected my back yard. I didn't understand him then. I wish I didn't understand now but I do and I'm grieved.

But that is just it, right?

We know our history, you know yours better than I know yours and vice versa.
Still we both know the big lines of eachother's history.
And we thought.. we are never going to repeat those actions again.

Well, people tend to react the same way under similar conditions, no matter what time or culture.

Politikerlede, an official and much used Danish word - which sadly does not exist in other languages.
Roughly translated : apathy and disgust in politics and politicians.

- So, Denmark just managed to take first place in the rankings of the least corrupted countries.
And still we are fed up, disgusted and tired of politics and politicians.
I cannot even imagine how I would feel if I were American.

Though, I would dare to say that it has changed a bit. And that we are becoming increasingly scared, and more involved in politics. After all... We did not elect Trump and best buddy Elon.
But they are doing their best to make life difficult for everyone, but themselves.

To be clear, I'm only referencing how Hitler achieved his total domination of Germany is eerily similar to what Trump is doing. A fair case could be made towards how Mussolini in Italy also achieved total power.

Musk = Hess, Stephen Miller = Himmler , Ribbentrop = Rubio ....I could go on, but I think you might get the picture.
An even more disturbing comparison is the German Industrial complex of 1932 boosting the hell out of Hitler, believing they could "control" him.

Gustav Krupp of the largest industry (Krupp) in Germany is analogous to Elon Musk's role today.

There was a cabal of about seven industrial giants which correspond quite nicely with the tech billionaire bros of today.

The names and faces change but the fascism remains the same.

yep. Hitler was just intended to be the voice of the Nazi party. The words were supposed to be supplied to him.

Initially (circa 1924) that worked quite well. The industrialists supplied him with talking points against Communism, and he delivered them verbatim as they paid him a salary to "spread the word" all over Germany (pre-internet, hell pre-RADIO this was how it was done).

Funny thing happened though, Hitler noticed the applause lines demonizing Communists for all of Germany's shortcomings paled in comparison to the throwaway lines demonizing Jewish people. So Hitler began emphasizing Jews as the root of all of Germany's evils, and Hitler became the primary "influencer" of his generation.

The usual Hitler apologists will be along shortly to tell us how Hitler wasn't ALL bad, he loved his German Shepherd dog Blondi yadda yadda yadda.

Once Derpy gets out of county lockup, perhaps he'll enlighten us again how Hitler, as a baptized Roman Catholic, has gone to Heaven as Jesus died for ERRYBODY's sins....even Hitler's.
So when Hitler put himself down all was forgiven and his sins washed away?
Forgiven? Yes, upon his death.

Because you can't hang him 81 years after he committed suicide. And if you cannot bring him to justice, what's the point of calling him names? HE can't hear you...

Remember that 'Colonel Bogey' ditty

Hitler has only one ball
Goering's, it's said are very small
Himmler is very similar
And Goebbels has no balls at all.

Now we have,

The Rapist takes Adderall
J.D's cock is very small
Gosar should go so far
And Boebert, not heard at all.

The analogy doesn't really hold until the U.S. starts waging war for territorial expansion.
