That was about 50%. The German Central Bank says it receives annual updates from foreign central banks where the gold is stored. It said that the "integrity, reputation and security of these foreign depositories are beyond reproach." Just over 50% of Germany's gold reserves now sit in Frankfurt. The remaining metal is held in London and New York, where it can be quickly exchanged for U.K. pounds or dollars in an economic emergency. That said, sounds like the New York portion at least is going home....

None at all actually. I’m waiting for the bottom so I can get shit cheap. No trust fund though. I wish my dad left me a trust fund but he wasn’t rich when he passed. Now my MIL, whooo wee, that’s a different story. But, hopefully that’s not for a long while as she is quite lovely.

It's been years since countries traded in gold, then trucked blocks of metal around the globe. Nowadays they just stick a post-it on a pallet in Fort Knox to say 'the property of Vietnam' (or some electronic equivalent).
