Amid a political battle over what the intelligence shows, the White House is expected to send four of its top national security officials to brief lawmakers: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, administration officials said.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who testified in March that U.S. intelligence agencies assessed that Iran was not building a nuclear weapon, will be notably absent.

“Ratcliffe will represent the intelligence community,” the senior Trump administration official said of Gabbard’s absence

Israel-Iran live updates: Israel did not destroy all uranium, tried to kill Khamenei

"I would like to state clearly that no agreement, appointment or conversation has been made to start new negotiations," Araghchi said.

Iran has not reached an agreement to return to negotiations with the U.S. on its nuclear program and no date for a potential meeting to re-start the negotiations has been set, the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Iranian state TV Thursday.
but but but trump said... oh, wait, yeah, trump said. nevermind. He also said he vetoed plans to try and assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader

Israeli's Prime minister Katz:
Israel tried during the war with Iran to assassinate Khamanei, but there was "no operational opportunity to do so," Katz said.

He laughed off the suggestion Israel would need "permission" from the U.S. He denied it was "forbidden" by the U.S.

so somebody's telling porkies. Given the players, though, it's kind of pointless trying to figure out which one... they all could be.

Most HuMorus news by CNN tonight. For a moment, I thought it was a late-night talk mock of Hegseth's briefing about the bomb strikes in Iran.

Anderson Cooper did a masterful slam back on Pete's rants. Point by point, he showed clips of Pete chastising the 'fake news media' and taking them to task for not telling the truth or reporting the real news. Pete proceeded to list half a dozen or more 'truths' he said backed up the felon's statements about utter obliteration. The secretary accused the media, naming many companies, and, like Bugs Bunny taking a wrong turn in Albuquerque, took them to task for not supporting the brave boys who undertook that mission.

Masterfully presented, juxtapositioned, clip by clip, Anderson played CNN footage of his moment-by-moment reporting, using the same sources Pete cited and with the exact same text quoted by Hesgseth in those reports.

When it was all said and done, Anderson Cooper looked into the camera without a word being said afterward. It was point by point, clearly evident that Pete's claims were bogus. CNN did report exactly what Hegseth quoted as something the biased fake news media should have done.

[I'll be here later to hear the brave-hearted bloviators come to Pete's defense. Probably with more whining about TDS or some fake shit.]

The felon had a rare golden moment—his announcement of the combat assault on Iran was an opportunity to rise to the occasion, to sound like a Commander-in-Chief rather than a game show host.

He squandered it.

Instead of showing statesmanship, he used the spotlight to preen, offering only a perfunctory nod to the pilots who risked their lives. [Never mind the woman in the flight group—one can imagine how the crew might have viewed her as just another Hegseth's DEI box unchecked.]

His proclamation? Iran’s nuclear capabilities had been “obliterated.” End of discussion. A declaration so absolute it left no room for nuance, no space for intelligence officials to clarify or offer differing assessments without being cast as traitors.

You ask what he should have done to sound Presidential?

He could have opened by praising the courage and professionalism of our armed forces—men and women—who executed the first combat deployment of MOPs in a complex and high-stakes mission. Then, with measured confidence, he might have stated that early reports were promising, but full evaluations were pending. That would have shown leadership, conveyed strength without swagger, and prevented the usual flood of media contradictions and intelligence leaks that follow his every bombastic pronouncement.

But, true to form, he made it about himself—again. Another Trumpian moment of self-congratulatory combustion.

According to our petty great leader, you got the reporter’s name wrong. 😡

Trump's credibility rating is 40%, not that anyone is paying much attention to his ability to hold and carry water. Even selling gold-gilded Bibles, fake watches, and China-imprinted T-shirts has not enhanced that credibility.

It's okay that he can't remember Anderson's first name. The felon has trouble spelling his own name on Truth Social. :nana:

America has a President that calls people childish names.

Allison Cooper as an insult to Anderson’s homosexuality, for example.

America elected him President because he reflects American Values.

No better example can be found than in the slurs Democrats use to refer to their President.

You’re just bad people.

Bombing Iran because you think maybe they might be or could build a bomb… there’s a prime example of American Values for you.

One good thing about Trump is he puts your real values on full display every day without the thick layer of Democrat mouth full of shit spin.

American Ugliness, writ large.

Hahaha!
Gotta give your deductive reasoning some kudos, fucker who eats soup with a fork.

Calls them worse than childish names.
Allison Cooper as an insult to Anderson’s homosexuality, for example.
Yep.
America elected him President because he reflects American Values.
Nope. Not the American values that got him elected.
No better example can be found than in the slurs Democrats use to refer to their President.
He earned those and more. Be fair, Republicans, also. Some Canadians, too.
You’re just bad people.
Yep. Some are. Not the majority. Like Cubans and Canadians, there are some there also.

One man's decision, so it's a stretch to infer it's an American value.
One good thing about Trump is he puts your real values on full display every day without the thick layer of Democrat mouth full of shit spin.
Dumb remark. Goes to your biased state of a small mind.
American Ugliness, writ large.
You writing a novel? That Ugly American title is already taken.

Iran cyberattacks truth social with d.d.o.s

A cybersecurity expert says that Iran hit the US with cyber attacks last week and warned that "the current threats are just the opening salvo."

After reports that Iranian hacker groups hit President Donald Trump's own website, Truth Social, world leaders began issuing warnings that these types of attacks are likely to continue.

Arnie Bellini, co-founder and former CEO of ConnectWise, explains, "The recent wave of attacks are known as denial of service attacks. And they've been hosting those on banks, defense contractors, energy firms, and hilariously, Truth Social. So you know it's a direct shot at President Trump's attack on their nuclear facilities, and it happened as soon as the nuclear plants were hit, so it was a direct response."
