urinary tract infection

Hey ...whenever I recieve oral sex, I always get a UTI. Does anyone know why or how this can be prevented? Any thoughts will be appreciated. THANKS:confused:

There are many different causes to 'UTI' which seems to be described everywhere, so one explaination unfortunatly solve everyone's problems.

Like others have said, its best if you do ask the Gynacologist or GUM clinician what may be the specific cause or how it can be prevented.

But you should be given the standard anitbiotic treatment, trimethoprim and finish the 2 week or 1 week course.

Maybe someone else may be giving it back to you? Maybe the bleeding or pain may not be a UTI but maybe just friction from movement. Or it could be something more serious, but i'm sure the doctors would have spotted it.

It may also be a pH problem. This is especially true with certain blood types (I think B, both positive and negative).

Try taking a vitamine C supplement or boosting your intake of acidic foods such as citric fruits and beans.

Hugs,

Kat

some women I know are hounded by vaginal problems, constant yeast infection, UTI's, and so on...I luckily have never had this problem, I have never had a yeast infection, nothing like that. When I was in college I was sleeping with this guy...and he had a HUGE dick, I mean, god...*shiver* it was great....ok, but back on topic...after sleeping together teh first several times, I got sick, with bad cramps, you know the symptoms, but I waited motnhs to go to a doc, when I finally went, she confirmed immediately that I had a UTI...I really think the only thing that caused it was how huge he was, it must have had something to do with it, since we were both hygenic to the point of being anal retentive about it...and we didn't use lube or condoms...and I have after he and I stopped sleeping together, I never had another UTI...although I still drink cranberry juice religously (even though I freaking LOATHE the stuff) and lots of wate,r just in case...

white cranberry vs. red

White & Red - They are both good for you - neither is better. White cranberry juice is made from the berries when they are still white - they turn red as they ripen - but either version of the juice has the same helpful whatever it is. I just read an article on this in the Washington Post.

Good luck, I hope you get this solved - I've had those and god what a HORRIBLE thing to deal with they are. Ugh. I hate pain.

My SO is also large. I never thought that would have anything to do with it. Any one else think this is a reason they've gotten UTIs?

So I'm pretty sure that every time I have sex I get a UTI. I've been to the doctor's 5 times in the past 3 months for prescriptions for UTIs. I hadn't stopped having sex in between to find out if that was the cause or not, but with the last prescription, I didn't have sex the week I was taking the medicine, or the week after until I went back to the doctor's to check if it was gone, or the week after until they called me to tell me I was clean. I finally get to have sex again, and boom, I'm infected. How can I fix this? I mean, I'm clean, I shower every day. I pee before and after sex. This is just really freaking depressing because UTIs are not pleasant and I want to have sex! :p Please, someone, anyone, help me out. :rose:
Visit an urologist and ask him for "long term prophylaxis drugs".
First of all you can use "L-methionine"
your urologist knows different drugs too.
