You do realise that by attacking people behind the unregistered mask you only make it easier for others to defend them right?

I mean, when does anyone ever take the side of an unregistered attack. Never? Oh right. NEVER.

Idiots.

You know what I find absolutely amazing is that everyone says that they never post as unreg. They claim to say whatever they need to say they say with the registered name. Now, I'm not the sharpest crayon in the box but somebody is lying their freakin' ass off. Not just one somebody but a whole slew of somebodies!

I can say I've never posted as unreg, you can say you have never posted as unreg...but how does anybody know we aren't lying? How do you know that your friends haven't pulled the wool over your eyes? My eyes?

There is a whole bunch of unregs today. These are somebodies friends.

Makes ya think, doesn't it?

umm...the side strings on that bathing suit came undone...

It does make me think, and I don't like it.

I have a few friends that I know don't post unregistered because they don't have to. They say what they want all the time be it unpopular or not. They don't care.

I think I fall into that category. I've never been afraid to speak my mind. There are very few people here I actively dislike, but every one of them knows it.

I don't think she's notice yet. Maybe it'll fall off completely! :D

Ok I have never posted as an unreg, except when the cookie expired. I'm not lying either, cross my heart. You're believing this right?

Sure, I believe you. I believe everyone when they say they don't post as unreg. I think perhaps thats part of the problem. I don't think anyone I associate with would post as unreg. Maybe they are...maybe they're aren't. Somebody is lying tho.

Same here. Jeez, it's taken me forever to get the number of posts I've got, I'm not wasting any on being unregistered.

Those and your new AV. Good morning PT! How are you this morning? :rose:

Unregistered is often someone recently embarassed in a fray... or one of the top 10-20 posters here, an old timer.

It is my understanding the old timers use Unreg to liven things up; it is a tradition here.

Many vBulliten powered sites have Unreg turned off at source, whereas here it is tacitly endorsed.

I sometimes wonder why we get so pissy about an Unreg?

Is it because Unreg is more anonymous than your "character"?

Or because Unreg might be saying something against you its trusted Character Friend (you think) wouldn't?

Or because Unreg tends to be more rude than the average Character?

Wrong. If an oldtimer does this, it is under a fairly obvious joke name. Killermuffin as Gawd, for example. That would be the "tradition." DCL does the same thing with some wacky joke names sometimes.

I post under no joke names OR as unregistered. If I post, you'll see Cheyenne next to my name.

I think it is because with every post, we develop our "character." Views, opinions and beliefs are shared and the "character" takes on a life of it's own. When people post as an unreg, it is because they do not want their negative comments associated with their character. Posting as an unreg is just a way of taking a cheap shot at someone, and if they are not willing to have those words attributed to them, they shouldn't be posting them in the first place. I think that is what pisses so many people off.

I think unregs are not usually the "old timers" but people who feel they would be attacked by the cliques if they voice an opinion against the "old timers."

Oh wait, that's right, there are no cliques here. There are no groups that jump to their friends' defense. These friends do not base their defense on the individual issues, but because they are their friends.

Uh oh, I posted about cliques, maybe I should have done this as an unreg.

Most unregistereds know a lot about the board such as history , characters etc - so unless they have been lurking anon - and then decided to dive in - it has to be peole who have been here a lot - they probably just get tired with the old chat and as Lance says decide to get things going - which invariably they do

The thing is about all these flame threads and threads that have a high no of trolling going on - are actually quite funny - even some of Hanns stuff is funny in a sort of - shit he didnt say that did he.

I suppose it all depends how seriously take this piece of cyber space - I know some people are here 24/7 - and to them it is a huge part of their life - so when someone comes crashing in and starts to dissrupt things it cause a bit of a commotion

keeps us all honest I say - stops the BS getting too overpowering

I only use the Handle I promise

But if you ever catch me lying about that you can be my groupie for life, to punish me for being bad. I hope she buys the punishing part.

The reason unregistered is annoying is because 9 times out of ten people use it to be assholes. They use it to flame and insult people.

Yes, our personas here are anonymous, but they are the persona we have HERE. If you post unregistered to flame someone it's because you don't want your lit persona to be held responsible for what you're saying.

I think it's cowardly, and I don't think any "old timers" are responsible for it. I've seen enough of them stir enough shit under their own names they have no need of hiding.

I think you would be surprised - think about it most unregs or trolling dont just happen because someone new stumbles upon Lit and decides to fuck around for a day - they usually happen in threads that are talking about threads that are talking about threads from way back - the unregisterd poster has got to be someone who has another ID here - and is probably your very best friend

* music from the twilight zone * - never trust anyone as we are all out to get you

Yeah, I'm not stupid. lol I'd say almost ALL unregistered posters are people with Lit identities. Most of the time it's so blatently obvious who it is it's pathetic.

Oh yeah, I was arguing with that person and then I disappeared for a while and this unregistered person came in and started flaming them, but it wasn't me. I was umm...sleeping. Yeah, sleeping after doing my laundry. I'm going to go shopping now. If that unregistered bastard shows up it's not me!

Right.

What I meant was that none of the Lit regulars do this to stir shit. That's just rediculous and paranoid.
