"Unequivocal Proof" Global warming real and man made

I just saw a show on the discovery channel and have also read a few articles that stated that sunspot activity is on a uprise since 2002 with no peak in sight. It has caused some problems with aircraft communications, satelite communications and television reception as well.

well i read different ... its meant to rise again in 2010 i found something online to that that has the numbers for sunspot activity

http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/stp/SOLAR/SSN/image/annual.gif

but anyway if you look at that graph you can see that it does naturally fluctuate quite a lot

but i'm not sure it matters anyway what the article i posted in this thread was about a report that claimed they could show how much of are climate change was caused by man and CO2 emissions ... that climate change is over and above what natural occurs

Also, the cycles and balances of the earth have been going on for a lot longer than man has been around. I'm sure that eventually we will become a stastistic whether we like it or not. Perhaps not for a long long time, but eventually we will.

I will try to find those links to some of what I read...it's been a while, and I was at work then too...well...in camp at work that is...on a different computer.

EDITED to add...

Here are a few...

One is from NASA who has a vested intrest in sunspots. ;)

This is the third time I've posted this link. It's from a college lecture series. Take a look at page 13 or so.

Sun spot activity

I'm still not sure how it is that a disbelief in global warming--I'm not even talking about skepticism; I'm referring to flat-out denial that it could possibly be taking place--ever came to be an ironclad part of conservative ideology. It would be like if someone said that liberals can't believe that there are 9 planets in the solar system.

I never knew that the worlds of geology, marine biology, and climatology were home to so many proponents of the worldwide socialist conspiracy.

"Many researchers have tried to link sunspot activity to climate change, but the new results cannot be used to explain global warming, according to the scientists who did the study."

Taken from the above link...

So, forget sunspots...

Now what's that about Mars again?

:p

Obviously you did not receive the Clan of the Collectivist Mind memo last month.

Mostly because you have difficulty reading and understanding it appears.

There is no denial that oceanic warming is taking place. There is NO denial that the sun is more energetic now. There is no denial that CO2 concentration has increased.

The point is there is NO scientific proof, or consensus, that man is the source of these changes or that man can correct these changes.

It has little to do with politics and a lot to do with giving rational thought to the problem as opposed to knee jerk reactions. We've already had it shoved up our ass with the freon horse shit.

At such time that there is a preponderance of scientific evidence that man is at fault AND man can cure it, then action will be taken.

But I'm still wondering what in the hell SUV's have to do with the Sun being hotter these days? Maybe you can answer that.

No, there is a pretty broad consensus on this issue. The debates really have to do with what the consequences of global warming will be and what can be done about it.

welcome to lit :)

No there isn't. There is a consensus that there is warming taking place. There is NO consensus as to the cause.

Tell you what I'll do kiddies. You post links to real science. I'll post a link that either counters your link, or offers an alternative explanation. We can discuss the conclussions for a bit, then another round of real science.

If you can find an erroneous measurment or data point in my links, post the source that has declared the data erroneous. If you can't, or I can't for your links, then the data points stand and we debate conclussions.

News articles, or stories from "Popular Science" are off the table. It has to be a real peer reviewed scientific paper or a college level lecture series.

Wanna play?

Well that post pretty much confirms you're an idiot.
Can you imagine how many results you'd get from looking up "ishmael" and "idiot"?

Damn... if only the search function was working!

*chuckle* Playing this game is like getting a berth to the Super Bowl and the other team doesn't show up.

Maybe this will kill this inane thread based on ignorance and superstition.

I'm still waiting for your cure for cancer to be published...

I should lay off global warming until you've built up a track record in the scientific community...

Awwwww how sweet. Whenever someone slaps you around you imagine the L to the T. It's an association thing, I suppose.

You're up WAY past your bedtime LT.

Woof!

Shut up Ginger.

One has to be wondering where Assmeal thinks all the increased carbon dioxide levels are coming from.

Maybe it's all coming from a certain blowhard windbag from Florida and not anywhere else?

Who's denying a warming trend?

It's the Chicken Soup Duct Tape for the Globe that we're concerned with...

It's like a Red Green fix.

Hey Ish, POOKIE's spoiling for a fight this morning!

Got positively vicious when I refused to get into the ring. Name calling and EVERYTHING! Such a good little centrist progressive Liberal in denial.

I guess you missed the parts in the papers where they've isolated the viruses that cause some cancers and are developing vaccines for them.
